Awesome! There's very few things in my life I've ever purchased where I have had absolutely zero buyer's remorse, but so far the Vibe is one of them.

Well, maybe if I'd gotten a color other than white...

nice to see! this prompted me to take a quick look at the value of my '10. per KBB, in "very good" condition with 45,000 miles, my base is worth $10,500, or about $200 more than i paid for it new. not too shabby...

"Is worth $10,500." Is that trade-in, private party sale, or dealer? How'd you get a new 2009 Vibe base AT for 10,300? I hope you had a permit for that gun

Thats GREAT ! The Vibe is truly underated. My 03 is 10 years old & the longer I own it the more I can appreciate its design. Its does everything it needs to do. I cant understand why Toyota doesnt have a 2014 Corolla 5 door hatch. The Corolla is one the most reliable friggin cars out there & to NOT have a wagon or hatch is just nuts. These cars are becoming more popular than ever & there isnt a Corolla wagon or hatch now ? My car gets better MPG than a KIA Forte 5 door & the Vibe 10 years old ! It doesnt HAVE to be a Matrix or Vibe....just a corolla hatch. Its a NO BRAINER !!! Come on Toyota !!!!
Same thing with Honda. The Civic is a great car, but a 5 door hatch would be great.....

$10,500 is the trade in value.
it's actually a '10, but i have to admit that i did make a typo in my previous post. however, it might actually blow your mind-i left a zero off that number. it should read "about $2,000 less than i paid new."
yes, i bought a '10 base AT with preferred package (all the power stuff) for about $8,500 out the door.
keep in mind that i bought in late July/early August of '09 when GM had announced it was dropping Pontiac and was in bankruptcy, the economy had cratered and no one could get a loan (including me-i paid cash. hell, i was unemployed...). after getting employee pricing, about $4,000 in factory and dealer incentives, trading in my nearly worthless 11 year old pickup with profusely leaking radiator under the "cash for clunkers" program, and cashing in the $3,000 or in rewards i had saved up on a GM credit card, i walked out the door with the keys to the cheapest new car i will ever buy. no gun necessary

That even beats the deal I got on my 2009 1.8L AT Power package in Jan. 2009. $19,480 msrp, got for a hare under $12,000 plus sales tax thanks to a $3,000 GM Card rebate, GM rebates, invoice pricing, and a $2,000 GM to dealer incentive on 4 specific Vibes he got to take those off GM's hands. I didn't really need a car but could not pass it up. I saw the ad in the Sat. morning newspaper, called to make sure it wasn't a mistake and was at the dealer by noon. Colors were limited to black, white and the carbon gray that I bought. Other Vibes in stock did not carry the $2,000 GM to dealer incentive. Can you believe he only sold 2 of the 4 that weekend? Quickly sold my similar 2003 Vibe with 33,000 miles privately for $9,500.

It's about time the Vibe is getting some recognition like this! Especially the 2009s

I'm still peeved over missing my $8500 new 2010 Vibe! One month before I arrived at my dealer to claim this deal, I transferred the registration on my old S-10 PU to another truck. This break in registration disqualified my S-10 from the $4,000 Cash For Clunkers program - Ouch!

now that sucks. fwiw, the truck i traded in on cash for clunkers was a '98 gmc sonoma-the "matrix" to your s-10 "vibe".
when i made my deal (prompted by the radiator in my sonoma rotting out for the 2nd time due to dexcool) i had to scramble to get proof of the lean on my title being released many years before by my lender, who had been bought out by another bank.

I have been very happy with my Vibe. My only regret is not having the AWD. I have enjoyed watching for years as used Vibes sell for more than I paid new.
I don't remember exactly but mine was a little under $11,000 out the door including tax and everything. I traded a gas hog 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis through the Cash for Clunkers deal. The value of the Merc was around $600 book value but I got $4,500.
In principle I am against government giveaways like Cash for Clunkers but I am smart enough to take advantage when they are implemented. Someone was going to get that $3 billion so I may as well get a piece since the deficit was going up one way or the other.
The VIbe really has been a good purchase. The thing is a little work horse and the great fuel mileage is icing on the cake.

Well here it is 1-1/2 years later and look what Consumers Reports put into their 2015 buying guide:
They omitted the 2009-10 models due to them still costing over $10,000 otherwise they'd be listed as well. Recognition such as this is reassurance
that we're all driving an investment, not just a car! Enjoy

Nothing to sneeze at! I'm going to drive my Vibe until the wheels fall off. I want to see that Odometer quit at 299,999.
