Is this engine splash shield?

I noticed this underneath my 2007 Pontiac Vibe this week. Doing a google search to me it sounds like this is a passenger side engine splash shield. Can anyone verify this for me and any recommendations on getting it fixed or buying a new one and then somewhere to get it installed. Help appreciated!

Yes, that is the splash shield. It should be held on with several push-pins and maybe one screw if I remember right. When I needed to replace some of the push-pins I looked at the auto parts stores and couldn't find the right size. I ended up going to a Toyota dealer and bought a few, about $1 or so each.

So there's a chance I just need the pins and not the entire part?

Yes, everything looks intact, just detached. There should be a similar shield on the left side of the car too.

If you have not gotten them yet, these are what you need to hold your splash guards in place.

This has irritated me enough to actually register instead of just lurking. My splash shields are constantly falling and the push-clips don't seem to be holding them. Is there a better way to hold them?

yep, as I have recommended before, use #10-12 plastic drywall anchors, one inch long. I get the red ones so I can easily see if they ever need tapping back into place. Just tap them in with a hammer until they reach the end, and voila; the plastic contorts with the metal to make a tight seal. Eliminates the rattles compared to the black push pins. Mine have held very well, plus I have lots of these wall anchors around the house anyway.

sorry for that. Back in the day when we started this website, I would post pictures using a straight copy and past between the IMG icons. I don't think that works anymore. As such, I have absolutely no idea how to do it. If it involves posting to a "garage" or "picture gallery" somewhere, I don't subscribe/belong to such things.
