Hi, I would like to introduce myself. I am Echo Park Marc and I just purchased a 2003 Vibe. I live near downtown LA. Does anyone know of a good place to buy rims? Also, any recommendations of what kind of rims that would match this color?

Hello and welcome! 2003 is a great year! 8-) Its nice to see another active member in the LA area. Im in Long Beach. I am not too sure where to find rims, however, I am a sucker for black wheels. I think they look great on most cars especially cars that are tinted. Check out Mac99d's garage thread. I think his black and chrome rims look great on his red lava colored vibe.

Hi Marc,
Nice to meet you! Vibe looks great. I'm no expert in colors, but if your wheels are in good shape - try painting them! If you know Photo Shop you can test different color schemes.
Let bus know what you end up with.

Welcome to GenVibe. I'm not into aftermarket rims ... YET (love the 18" GT rims that my Vibe came with ;) ). Lots of useful info here on this site. Get involved here & visit often :D

If you like black wheels on a car, you could check out black RTX Turbines. They make them in 16-17-18 inch so you have the choice in regards to that. I love mine. Also, Thebarber was rocking some gold wheels on his Vibe for a while that looked really slick.

Always good to see another Vibe popping up on Genvibe! Nice car. tirerack.com, discounttiredirect.com are a couple of good wheel sources for Vibes. They both offer a way to "see" the wheels on your car. Liking those black RTX Turbines above. Where did they come from?

Welcome to GenVibe Mark! Nice looking 2003 you've got there ;)! As far as wheels go, like others mentioned, check out Tire Rack. You can view different wheels on your vehicle on their website and their prices are unbeatable. I myself prefer silver wheels. I think black wheels have become way too overdone. Just my $0.02 though.

hey welcome to the family

nice vibe. +1 on tire rack. also, not sure where you're from. have you considered lowering the car? i've seen a couple of lowered vibes (cole's first vibe comes to mind) that looked great with stock wheels

Thank you for all the replies. I am considering just putting plastic black dip on the stock rims? Has anyone tried this?

I haven't personally done anything with PlastiDip, but I know others on here have. I highly recommend checking out the PlastiDip forums as well. You will find tons of information, how-tos, tips, etc.

Welcome, great colour you've got there. I have gun metal grey rims on mine, although I would like black rims instead haha.

Hey Marc, nice ride!
I just moved out of Silver Lake, but I still drive an '06 Salsa Vibe. Personally, I think black is an awesome contrast to the Salsa red, especially with the tint. I painted my hubcaps black, and am saving for a set of 17" wheels.
See you on the 5 8-)
