fuel filter?

I'm new to the Vibe. I've only had the 1.8 for a week now. I was looking through the owners manual for the maintenance schedule and was surprised about what I didn't see: nothing about changing the fuel filter. So is it not necessary to change the fuel filter? Is it one of those types that you cannot change? I never feel comfortable when manufacturers say parts like this and other "regular maintenance" parts last the lifetime of the car.

Also, I spent a few minutes looking for the power steering fluid reservoir but then remembered it has electric power steering! I don't think I'll ever get use to not having to do a power steering flush!

There's been less history on the 09's, but even on the early years, such as my 03, the fuel filter doesn't need maintenance unless something unusual happens. It's a big filter bag/screen in the gas tank, and very few Vibers have had any issues with it, so I believe them when they say routine fuel filter maintenance is not required

Interesting topic, I'm with the OP I've never seen a situation were you don't have to replace the fuel filter. If that is the case I assume Vibe owners use their favorite fuel injector additive to keep the fuel system clean. This leads to my question, what fuel additive do you use and how often?

I put in a bottle of Chevron Techron once a year.
