Anybody get their new card? Look again. Closer. Closer...the square blue logo with the two initials on it has shrunk.
What was about the size of a postage stamp before has been reduced to...
about this size:
*edit: and no embossed numbers on it.

Are you referring to some specific type of credit card or to some other kind of card?

It's a logo...a square blue one with two initials on it. The company used to make this one particular brand of cars.

That card got me $2,003 off my 2003 Vibe, and $3,000 off my 2009 Vibve. Plus Son #1 got about $1,500 off a GEO Tracker, and Son #2 about $1,500 off a GMC Jimmy.
The Vibe deals were particularly sweet as in Kan. 2003 GM rounded my 1,200 points to 2,003 on the 2003, and again In Jan. 2009 about 1,200 points rounded up to $3,000 on my 2009 Vibe. That is a little over $8,000 total. I have about 850 now - they are offering to round that up to 2,000 if I buy something by 2-28-13 but I am not in the market.

Yep, that's what mine looks like too.
I recently got a Target debit card and it also lacks the raised letters. Looks like the whole industry is going in that direction.

YES I got my new card(s) for the wife & I

I immediately called them up and b i t c h e d about the changes made to the card and told them to reissue mine with embossed letters. My Costco American Express card is remaining embossed (just got a new one today thanks to some fraudulent charges against me from Columbia South America )

IT still has embossed letters

The GM card representative told me to keep using the old one if that was my preference as the numbers didn't change at all and the expiration date is only one month difference THREE years from now

They also said it was more secure which could be true BUT in my case, where I'm hard on things in my wallet, those numbers will be worn out beyond legibility in a year or so and then the card will be useless to all of us.

Does the Target Debit card get you that 5% immediate discount like their Red Card credit card does?

Yes, 5% off every purchase at the register, and it says on the receipt how much was saved. It also directly withdraws from my checking account (albeit with a 1-2 day delay).
Both the Credit and Debit cards are branded as "REDcard".
And 1% of my purchases are donated (by target) to the school of my choice.
