I installed my sub today i just wanted to mount my amp on top of the sub like it used to be in my old car but my buddy convinced me to hide the amp. i was thinking about trying what Goines had done but i am keeping my PS2 under the drivers seat so i tried to fit it under the back seat but no such luck not enough space my friend then suggested we put it behind the storage compartment so i took out all of the the plastic on the passenger side and mounted it to the metal piece there i put a piece of foam in between to cut out any vibrations i mountewd it useing one existing hole and drilled two more in and then bolted it down. I then used bannana clips to bring the speaker wire out of the panel it is an amazinglyu clean install if it wernt for the bannana clip plug you woudlnt know there was a sub in the car. I love the fact i can quickly and easily remove the sub from the car witout messing with lots of wires. I know step by step pics of the install would be awosme but i dont have didgital camera that will be a birthday present hopefully I willhave it at the NE rally so you can see it and maybe i can find a friends camera and snap some pics of the final install.

oh i almost forgot i also installed a nice red led toggle switch in the switch panel on the left i got it at pep boys and it looks sharp

I'm looking to put my Sony Xplod 4 ch amp in to run the cabin speakers, but I have no idea where to put it.. My only thought is to take out the spare, but i'd like to avoid that..

ok if you remove the right hand storage compartment cover and stick your arm back in the hole you can feel the outer body panel and then the there is an inner panel. the plastic piece covers this inner panel I mounted the amp to the backside of the inner metal panel. if you are going. I would also suggest you think about mounting under the passenge seat where the factroy amp is for the upgraded sound system

I have the NAV system, so under the passenger seat is taken up by the CD changer..Ah well..i'll look around.. the spare coming out might still be a viable option..

well I'm planning on relocating the jack and cutting the empty jack space out and building a new false floor, and mounting the amps there...... might use plexi-glass, just to show it off already built the fiberglass box, and upholstered it, I'll get pics as soon as I get a decent digital camera

I used the spare tire compatment to place my amp.It looks much cleanner then the amp on the sub box.

That is a slick install. I don't know about mounting the amp upside down though. The heatsink is in the other side and last I checked heat still rises. If you are that confident in the amp then so-be-it. Neither me nor any of my other guys in my shop would mount an amp upside down. Is it secured to anything right now?

It is just a try. I know the heat protection on my JBL is very efficiant, so if the amp "clip", I'll turn it up side down. For now, I haven't had any heating problem, even in hot weather (95F) and an 1 hour trip and the almost at the maximun, it does not heat very much.

I think I figured out where i'm putting my cabin amp.. The sub amp is going on the back of the box for now (until I have the money to do fiberglass custom stuff). The cabin amp is going to the right of the spare, underneath all the plastic. I figure if I cut into the plastic thats acting as a brace, i'll have plenty of room to mount it flat... Although I'll have to cut into the plastic under the jack..and figure out a metal bar to act as a brace for the plastic...I might wire in that amplifier next week...so if I manage it..i'll post pics..
