The Latest From Injen

Just got off the phone with Injen. The CAI for my GT, which I sent back to them two weeks ago because it would not fit, ends up being the CAI for the Base engine and that is why it would not fit. They had the wrong part in the GT/XRS box. The bends are different for the Base and GT engines. They are sending me the GT version today. Also, I asked about the new CAI for the Vibe. They confirmed they are making a new CAI for the Base engine only, not the GT.

I have heard of this happening before. Wrong part in the wrong box. That sucks you had to wait this long for it, but at least it is getting resolved. And thanks a lot for the update as to what they are making for future Vibes.

Thats why I try to by from local shops...I had the same problem where the shop's part distributor gave them the wrong part and said it was the right one...Needless to say the shop hooked me up with the right part after a good bit of confusion...my 2 cents always go into any shop or calling mail order shops with the part number in hand, along with the usally infoWhen all said and done I have a nice new shine InJen Intake.

How much is a CAI for a base Vibe gonna set me back and where can I get it? I'm guessing from other posts, that the price is well worth it?

Any idea when the "new ones" are going to come out and a price on them? So far I have seen anywhere from $200 - $250 or so, does that sound right? Are the filters that come on the Injen CAI's any good or is it better to replace it with a K&N filter? Sorry if all these questions sound stupid, but I don't have one yet and I want to make sure I get the most bang for my buck... so I'm taking your guys' word on this since you already have all of it.

Maybe I missed this, but since Injen already has a CAI for the base engine, what's "new" about the new one?

The big advantage for me is that it will be smog legal in California.

Well, its now one week since Injen said they were shipping me a new CAI and no joy. I asked them to e-mail me the UPS tracking number, they said they would, and didn't. I called yesterday and left a message for Philip in the tech support dept to e-mail me the tracking number, and no reply. This is supposed to be a "quality" comapny?

The CAI on ptuning.com now are the "old" ones I assume since they say they are for the Base and AWD??? I see the polished and black on there, but what I don't see is the red and blue that I have seen around so much here on Genvibe. Is there something special I should know or am I just not looking in the right place? I wish they would hurry up and get the new ones out... I want one damn it!
