I would take their cash payment, but I don't want their brake override system. My car will never have this problem because: (1) the problem is drivers who can't drive, not the cars, (2) my OEM floor mat is always on the hooks, (3) if it did happen, I know how to shift into neutral and slow/stop the car safely. Didn't need either of the accelerator pedal recalls either (and didn't even have the second one done).

Yep ... Same here! I'll take the cash

Never had the pedal circumcised and NEVER Will. I've a manual tranny and there's something called "neutral" which is achievable via clutch and/or shifter. Send me the $$$ and I'll be happy

My mom asked me about this the other day

.
We had the recalls done on our both our Vibes for liability reasons. I wanted to be able to blame GM/Toyota if something did happen (not that I ever thought anything would/will happen, but you just never know), but if it did, they couldn't say, "Well, you never had the recalls done, so you're screwed!"
Like Geoff and Tim said, I know how to put the vehicle in neutral and (hopefully) avoid any accidents/incidents.

I assume only applies to the Matrix - not to the Vibe.

Well looks like I get the big bucks
"Based on the information you gave us, your allowed loss is $37.50"
I traded my '05 Corolla in 2010 for the GT.

Just got an offer for a cash payment, but I'll pass on the brake override system, and here's why:
It's not my car's fault, it's those drivers who can't handle the road
.
My OEM floor mat is always on the hooks - no room for unwanted surprises.
In case of a glitch, I know how to shift into neutral and bring it to a safe stop. Safety first!
