My wife has burned a CD and tried to play it in her 04 Vibe and it doesn't play.
She has changed the types of formats and can't get anything to play.

It will play the original CD, but not a burned one.

I looked in the owners manual and it only says that if you use a CD-R the music may not play as well as other types of CD's but doesn't give the music formats it will play.

What type of music format will the Vibe play?

The factory radios in an 04 Vibe will only play audio CDs, They will not play a data disc with audio files (mp3/wav/etc).

If you are in fact trying audio format CDs instead of data CDs with audio files, then I don't know what different format option there are, if any.

Only other advice I can offer is that the factory radios get pretty warm inside, so try to not use homemade CDs with adhesive labels, the radio can heat and soften the adhesive, and you don't want a label to come off inside the radio. Label them with a sharpie instead
