Vibe Wanter

I have wanted a vibe ever since they first came out, Now that it's time to get a new car I need a used around $13-14k. I don't really care the color cause I like almost all. I really like shadow and satelite, but whatever I get I want a 2-tone. It's either spend the extra money on a vibe or buy a newer model Firebird.

If you bought a New VIBE at the present 0% financing, it would cost you the same as buying a used car and borrowing the money from the bank. Go for the VIBE.

I agree with Vibe Rater --Buy now at 0% for 5 years, and by the time you finish paying off, you should be in good financial shape to do so...Vibe Firebird Firebirds have minimal versatility, and everyone has one. Get a Vibe -- I still turn heads, it's always the topic of coversation, and IT ROCKS!!!!

I too have to agree with Vibe Rater and ragingfish, get a Vibe. Especially with the 0% financing, you could get one heck of a deal. The Vibe is a whole lot more versatile than a Firebird. You'll love it.

I have 4 used Vibes at my dealership. The only two tone I have is a 2003 GT with 1500 miles. I have a Frosty monotone M&T Power Group and alloys with 7500 miles for 14990. The other one I have is an Abyss monotone. IM me if you are considering one of these!Shadow Realm

Also a question I wanted to know, Do the GT and Base ALL come in manual? Or can you get them in auto? Is says the only one that comes standard with an auto is AWD. There has been two vibes ONLY at the dealers here (small town) so I don't get to see them very often unless Im driving and see one on the street.

You can get an auto in the base Vibe, just not in a GT. Manual 6 speed transmission only for the GT. The base is a 5 speed manual.

In that case, I want a base. I have been looking at all different colors on the net (AutoTrader) and thye colors I like the most are Shadow Two-Tone, In person, Can you tell the shadow is a two-tone? The cladding and paint are very similiar in color so I can't tell on pictures.

Yes you can see the difference in person. The cladding is dull and the paint is nice and shiny. The dealer I got my shadow monotone from had a two tone shadow, You can definately tell the difference.

If you want to be $200 a month then you need to be on a 10000 car or you'll ahve to put a sizable amount down.To answer the question of shipping: Yes, we would ship it there because that would be part of the deal.Shadow Realm

Yeah...200 a month... Best price I've found on Used Vibes even with 20,000 + miles on them is like 15,000. Better off getting a new one.but still... I'm looking at 250 a month and that his with the supplier discount, rebates, etc... and paying for 6 years!

I will be getting about $13k around Christmas for a car, So I wanted to use it as a down payment to either pay all the car of or alot where I have very little left to pay on.. From all the vibe owners, Does the vibe have any kick to it, Or is it like a typical 4cyl? i.e. lagging

What is "a typical 4 cyl"?What only matters is horsepower and torqe(weight). It dosen't realy matter if it is 4 or a 6 cylinder.I have a base 5 speed, and the car's performance is great. I just my Vibe!

Take one home for the night...get the feel of it...then go back the following day and buy one.

quote:Does the vibe have any kick to it, Or is it like a typical 4cyl? i.e. laggingI went from a 93 Probe GT to the 03 Vibe GT. I have to say...the GT has KICK. I swear i've hit redline about 15 times since I got the car (almost two weeks ago), and it's been a blast everytime. Once you hit 4500 RPM, the thing just blows away everything else. The six speed on the highway is great too. Going about 75 in sixth gear the car sits around 3000 rpm...and if you get caught behind someone, downshift to fifth and just power your way past them!I don't know how the Base or AWD perform, but I definitely have to say the GT is worth it! I'm sure the Base will be awesome with the supercharger, but I didn't want to wait that long!

I don't think GM dealers will let me (17) take a car for 24 hours...Although my parents will help me, They might let my dad? But hey atleast Im the younger crowd attracted to the Vibe, Most people around here driving them are senior citizens!

All I know is I want something around $200 a month, that I can pay off or almost off with $13k I REALLY want a Vibe and being a member here is torture! But then I could wait until I get my money for my car, Put it down as a HUGE down payment, and that will lower my payments a bunch, I would rather NOT have a payment, but I also do not want to wait!

Do all vibes with a sunroof mean they have moons and tunes?

Re: Vibe Wanter (billabong_star)

Yes. The only way to get a sunroof (in the US) is with the moon and tunes package.

A source for finding used cars is http://www.cars.com. There's over a hundred used vibes there today, some (a few) are in the 13-14K range, maybe some are close enough to consider

quote:Yes. The only way to get a sunroof (in the US) is with the moon and tunes package. Not *entirely* true. One Pontiac dealer I went to had a base monotone Salsa with a third-party installed moon roof. Cost more than the M&T package from GM, without the tunes part. Plus, third-party moon roofs are just problems waiting to happen. But to answer his question, the factory installed moonroof from GM is part of the Moon & Tunes package and is not available separately (without the tunes part, that is). Also, before your dealer tells you otherwise ('cause this has come up before): You can get the in-dash 6 CD changer with M&T. You can't get the DVD Nav system with the under the seat 6 CD changer with M&T. That's because the M&T amp would go in the same spot as the changer, and there's just not enough space.

None in my area Anyone have an idea how much it would cost to ship a vehicle?

You can get a free quote from several places. I haven't used any of them, so I can't recommend one over another. The only time I had a car shipped it was from LA to DC, and there was a company that did it by rail, but they only shipped west coast to east coast with no stops in between.Try http://www.a1-auto.com/quote.html and you can get a ballpark cost. Also, if it's not too far, you could always get there somehow and drive it back. You'd may want to see the car anyway before committing that much money on it. Shadow Realm is in the business, he could probably give you better info.

Im currently driving a 00' Sunfire... Here, They have advertisements on paying your car off at trade-in if it's on a new vehicle, That plus the 0% financing, AND a $13k down payment, A 72 month loan should make my payments relatively cheap right? I mean, around $150 or less a month? I was going to use the $13k for a cheaper, used car, Since Im moving into my own apartment around December, and I did'nt want to have a car payment at all. I will be going to the spring semester to college soon after which is why I think I want to go for the Vibe. I like it alot and Im thinking of just going to a dealership and picking out exactly what I want. If I will have a car payment, I may have to hold off moving out for a half of a year or so which I really don't want to do. Im stuck between a rock and a hard spot here..

Not sure how much you owe on the sunfire.. but you shouldn't have an issue of getting the payment low with that $13,000 down payment. 0.0% is only for 36/48/60 months If you got to 72 months I think they might be able to get you something under 5%Figure if you owe 8000 on the sunfire....I would hope they give you about 8000 in trade...VIBE 19000rebates -2500 (2003 model)downpayment -13000owe on car +8000trade-in -8000 total 3500 + tax and lic pay over 60 months you should get it under $100 a month

I bought my Vibe GT for $22K. more than I wanted to pay but cashed in on GM's 72 mos @1.9% financing. I put no money down or trade in. I just went in pre-approved and pay $331/mo. Still considerably less than the $545 I paid for my Tundra. If you had $13K to put down you could definitely pay off most of your balance or atleast get the payments down to next to nothing. You can always refinance it later too but you won't get the low rates like 0% or 1.9%. Personally, I would stay at home for the first semester and work to pay off the rest. then transfer in Jan to the school you want and you're good. I did that my first year and was happy I did it that way. I got to miss all the orientation crap and the academic advisors planning ALL your classes without much of your input. I got out of a lot of lame classes because of this.

have you connsidered an auction buy,,,I am sure there are many pitfalls with this if you are not aware on what you are getting into but here is an example of something that could work out for you..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 2425347245

ok here is a completed auction...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 4432738Not a bad price...The deals are few and far inbetween since many completed auctions had a reserve which wasn't reached///

Everybody's situation is different, you gotta do what's right for you. I bought my Vibe w/ cash, no payments. I had given up a lot to save up the money, and had been driving a really ragged out pickup truck that Il traded for the vibe. You can't always get what you want. You owe it to yourself to live within your means, and if you have to buy a used car instead of a new one, or put up with a different car for a while before you can afford what you really want, then do it. You'll enjoy the car more if you're not reminded of how you're flat broke and deep in dept every time you get into it. Don't be a welfare slave with a new Cadillac.Take your current car in to a dealer and talk to them about what kind of deal is available. Get the numbers and go away for at least a week to think about it. Don't let them sell it to you the first visit.
