snow tires

has anyone put 4 snow tires on for winter or has anyone considerd putting them on? if yes what brand and where?

I sold my stock wheels and tires before I even took delivery of my base Vibe last December. I went with 195/65 x 15"* Dunlop Winter Sports on steel Corolla wheels, based on the the Tire Rack's ratings and customer feed back. I've been very happy with the grip, ride and noise. Too soon to know about wear. *(Tall & skinny for better bite in deep snow.)

That raises an interesting question.If you don't have AWD, do you need 4 snow tires? Wouldn't the only wheels that benefit be the drive wheels? Or is this not right...

Or is this not right...In fact, the best is to put 4 winter tires. But if you want to buy only 2 tires, put them at the back, cause this is where your car have less traction. The front tires have the engine weight to push them to the road.

Exact, only 2 winter tires - on rear.ref.

For few $$ you compromise your safety and may be all others around. Money speaking?... so better go with 4 cheaper winter tires than only 2 good... my 2 cents!

Its getting closer to winter and I thought it might be a good time to leave my opinion regarding winter tires....last winter I purchased a set of 4 Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires and they were absolutely fantastic....the added traction and grip was very evident and the handling was great....road noise was not bad either......I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.....
