I know we have the pet peeve thread for our car, but what about just life in general? So I was just curious - what drives people nutty around here? For me... hmm there's lots... where to start? Ottawa driversRude, obnoxious peopleUsing the word "seen" when you should be using the word "saw"Long lines

I will have to agree with your number 3, Sputnik. Other than that, my list is too long to come up with just a few. I will have to think on that one for a bit.

So many to list, but here are my top ones:* people who talk on cell phones constantly -- about anything or nothing. at lunch, with other people eating around them, while walking, WHILE DRIVING (should be a criminal offense IMHO)...I have a cell, but damn it, nothing is likely to ever be that important!!! HAVE RESPECT FOR YOUR FELLOW HUMANS!!!* slow drivers* maniacally fast drivers* people who race off of a sidestreet to cut you off, then go 20 km/h BELOW the speed limit. It's like, "who the hell are you to cut me off and then slow down not only me, but the 5 km of traffic behind you!!!!"* people who drive "luxury" cars. 99% of those i've met think they should be treated like royalty (see next bullet for related peeve), and they can have whatever they want, whenever they want it, and HOW they want it -- including the road! GRRRRRR....* elderly people who think they are god's gift to this green earth and should be treated like kings and queens (cause guess what, you're NOT!!!!), and treat people like crap cause they think they have the RIGHT to do so!!!* people who don't know when to use "to" and "too"* people who chat, e-mail, or message using single letters or stupid letter/number combos to represent real words (e.g. "C U L8R")* people I DON'T KNOW that call me by my first name. e.g. when I worked @ target and had to wear a nametag, some random guy comes up "hey mike, i have a question." you don't know me. don't do that.and finally, not even last, and most definitely not least:* people who borrow something of yours, then return it in worse condition you received it in. For example -- lending out your Vibe, and getting it back with an interior FULL OF CRUMBS, wrappers and other miscellaneous junk!I think that's a solid list for now...

I also have many, but one of the biggest ones is people biting their nails. I think it's disgusting. I guess I can deal with the fact that some people do it, but it's actually *hearing* it that I can't stand. I have one friend that I will not even go to the movies with because he sits and chews his fingernails for the whole 2 hours. Ew ew ew ew.

• People spelling my name "John" when it is really "Jon" (THIS IS MY LARGEST ONE AND I WILL CORRECT YOU IF YOU DO IT! )• Anyone driving on the road that isn't me that either: slows me down, tailgates me, or that I don't feel like looking over.• People who yap on the cell phone *AND* you can tell it is imparing their vehicular control. (If you can talk and drive w/o problem where I don't notice it, then no harm done.)• Ricers.• People who automatically assume that Macintosh/Apple = Crap ... and only base their opinions on the OS9 computers they use at work or school (They are using 3 year old technology, it's like me complaning how much Windows ME sucks compared to OSX 10.2 Jaguar)• Anyone who supports PETA and like minded nazi groups. Eh, i'll stop. There's too many to list. However, I only really care about the name one. The rest are trivial things and it's not worht my time getting upset over them. Just don't ever call me "John."

Drivers who drive into an intersection when traffic is backed up, just as the light turns yellow, so they stop in the middle of the intersection and block traffic.

I agree, you're very much exempt from this. I can only imagine what would be said about my French! We're just bothered by those who were born speaking English and still can't seem to get a grasp on it.

I'd be willing to bet that I have more equity in my house than my AND your car is worth.Seriously though...On the topic of names, I hate it when people mispronounce my wife's name. Her name is Danelle, pronounced Duh-Nell. She gets mad at me because I'm always correcting people when they say her name wrong. More than not it gets pronounced Danielle (Dan-Yell). It just irks me to no end, especially the morons who work behind a desk and have the name right in front of them on the computer!!! Then they have the nerve to spell it like THEY pronounce it; THE WRONG WAY!!!Another pet-peeve of mine is people who just do NOT pay attention to me when I'm telling them something important. I'm one who likes to try and foresee a problem and to have a plan to avoid it or solve it before it does. I hate people who say "oh, that won't happen", then just flat out ignore me.I get my sweet revenge when what I say might happen, does, then that person(s) is sitting there with a look of surprise/confusion on their face. The next thing out of my mouth is "I hate to say it, but I told you!!!"As far as drivers... the people who are on an interstate in the left lane and go the EXACT SAME SPEED AS THE PERSON IN THE RIGHT LANE!!! But on the same note, I hate tailgaters. I'll be behind that same idiot who's in the left lane, keeping a safe distance, and some moron is trying to drive his car into my hatch back!!! Hey dipsh*t... Tailing me won't make the person in front of me drive any faster, you MORON!!!OK. I'm done.

I can't stand it when you are engaged in a debate with someone and rather than listen to what you are trying to say and reflecting thoughtfully on your interpretation of something, the other person is merely biding their time waiting to speak. And you know this is happening because they start the same sentence over 3 or 4 times in the middle of your argument.

I have a long list but I'll cut it down- the use of the word ir-regardless; it makes no sense: the prefix ir- means 'not' and the suffix -less means 'without,' irregardless is a double negative- minivan drivers: I've had more close calls with these than any other vehicle- Apple users; any time some on posts a question about a PC problem the Apple user chimes in with "shoulda bought an Apple" or something along those lines- red light runners (we have lots of them here in College Station)- people that read books/newspapers while driving- so-called 'reality' TV (big brother, survivor, american idol etc..) I don't watch them- the English language; too many words spelled the same, pronounced differently; here are read (reed)read (red)bass (like the fish)bass (like the drum/guitar)hearheretherethe'rethey're

1) People who talk on cell phones while in line at a store or at a restaurant ordering food. When I served years ago I would literally ignore the table until they were off the phone before I went up to them. They sometimes would get all mad and ask why I took so long and I would politely tell them that they were on the phone, which means they are busy.2) Those blutetooth things and people walk around a store on them. You can never tell if they are crazy and talking to themselves or to you or what. And when you look at them, they give you odd looks like your the crazy one. 3) People who can't speak english properly. This also goes for the people who love to speak with the (deez, datz, and dose). Like "Lemme git sum dem hot wingz sun." Ok, your not my dad and I only heard hot wings. It irks me to no end to hear that kinda slang. 4) Left lane drivers who do 40mph and won't move over cause they are apparently under the impression they work for the police force, thus angering the people behind them more, causing them to be more rash in there manuevers to get around, thus causing more accidents. Just move over.5) Fake things on cars. Hood scoops, side vents, stickers for things you don't have (Kumho tires, when you have goodyear).6) $20 Pep Boys mufflers7) Porn you have to pay for.8) Any medication commercials that spend 90% of the time saying who cannot take it.9) Reality shows on the big networks (big brother, survivor, etc.) I do love the Discovery ones though (Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch)
