And when it expires, you should be able to renew for the $24.99 6-month deal :D A friend of mine, who let his expire, was recently solicited by Siruius/XM to come on back for the $24.99 plan. He jumped at it. I recently renewed one of our three GM vehicles for this same 6-month plan. It only took TWO phone calls to get the right person to give me the deal :o

Yes, if equipped. This goes for any XM radio also.

I always call and "cancel" and normally get a deal. I will do this again for the fourth time in a few months. I hope it works.

I shouldn't say anything to jinx it, but mine is still working courtesy of the previous owner. :D He owned it for about 9 months and sold it to the dealer over a year ago, so I guess he bought a lifetime or at least a several year subscription.

To me, $25 for 6 months is more of a reasonable price, since I only really listen to like three channels!

I heard this mentioned a few times on Hair Nation this past week and thought to myself, "I should make a post about this on GV :P!"

I have the Mostly Music Package which is $9.99 per month. I pay every 3 months and with taxes, etc. it ends up being between about $31.xx and $33.xx. I only listen to maybe 5 or 6 channels at the most. To me this isn't a bad price.

This is the way I look at it...

You could easily purchase an MP3 or iPod, download music, and hit play... I do feel the cost of Sat Radio is expensive considering how hollow the sound is to my ear and the lack of variety - If we were to take a poll, how many different stations/channels does a subscriber listen to? To me, you are paying a premium to listen to the Top 20, certain genre, or etc - which replays all over again in a few hours.

I'll be the oddball out here. I actually listen to the following each and every day:
70's on 7
80's on 8
The Pulse
The Blend
Watercolors
1st Wave
Classic Vinyl
Classic Rewind
Raw Dog
Deep Tracks
I also have about 5 others set on my radio and computer at home to include traffic reports in the Delta Quadrant.

I couldn't live without my XM. In all Siriusness, should my Vibe die, I don't know what I would do because the service has become so expensive. I took a huge gamble 4 years ago and purchased a lifetime policy for $400 when they had a $100 off promo. Sirius/XM was in deep financial troubles and I thought there was a 50/50 shot that I would lose my money. But, since I was still employed, I took the risk and it has paid off. Now that I am retired, I listen to it on my home computer more than ever. My only complaint is that despite me laying out all that money and helping out XM during their startup/financial trouble, they will not allow me to transfer my account to another car should my Vibe fail. I was misled at the time of purchase by dummies manning their phones who told me that it would be transferable once. I now know that is wrong. Should the Vibe die, I still would have XM for life at home, which again, being retired, may be the best news out of the whole deal.
