Driver side power power window noise

I have an '09 base Vibe. Anyone out there ever have this occur to them?
When I put my driver side power window up and stop pressing the button, the window motor seems to stay engaged and continues to push up on the window making a loud, creeking sound. To avoid this I must stop just short and lightly tap the button until I know it is up or else it keeps cranking for a second or two.

Thanks
Bruce

no, but I believe there is another Toyota recall out there for Corolla driver's side window switches. Check it out on our Vibe "Latest News" thread:

Bruce, you need to have that checked out asap, there is a recall on that window switch, and it can start a fire.

Call your dealer schedule it, and they should have it fixed in about an hour.

I have the same issue such that the glass keeps moving to completely open the window after I stop pressing the switch. This, I beleive is part of the design of the system. You just have to release the switch very quickly to make it stop moving. However, I don't like it at all.

The sound could be dirt in the glass tracks or weatherstripping. However you could have that loose bolt problem that was a recall on earlier models inside the door. I hope I don't get it someday.

There is a recall for the master window switch on the driver's side door panel on 2009 Vibes. Just as SeattleJeremy said, you should call your dealer and schedule an appointment to have it checked out ASAP.
