Gas related (should I say "fuel" related?)

I know there's an official "post your mpg" thread, but I only have one reading, with my "new" Vibe, so far, so it's not really official -- but I am psyched: 32 mpg in mostly suburban (not really city, not interstate) driving. Very happy, as that's really the primary reason I bought my Vibe. Wanted a hybrid, but I'm getting 11 mpg better than my old car and spent about 1/6 what I would've spent on a hybrid.

Second, kind-of-fuel-related question. On my 2003 base Vibe, there's a plastic-y molding that goes around the tires. On the molding right under the gas tank -- well, my husband, on first fill-up, must have dripped a bit, as I had a lighter-colored swipe on that molding right after he put fuel in the Vibe.

Anyone else have this happen? He put a little turtle wax on it and it's better, but not gone. Any suggestions?

Thanks

You can fix with with some Meguiar's Shine Protectant. You'll end up doing all of your plastic cladding, though, because it's so awesome. They also make a plastic polish that works better, but I don't have any yet.

Seems weird that molding right under the gas cap would be so ... sensitive to gasoline. But we'll try the Meguiars - thanks!
