Rubbing compound left dull spots - White, single stage paint

Post by leighangela »

So I've been researching a little on how to fix the dull spots left behind when the dealer rubbed out some orange dots that were all over the side of my white 07 Vibe. In my research I found out my car is Single Stage paint, no gloss top coat. Does anyone have a product recommendation to restore shine to the dull spots?

You could try some Meguiars Ultimate Compound stuff that you can apply by hand, although I personally think your dealer should have fixed them...

I'm sure someone will have a better solution, but I've tried the Ultimate Compound and been fairly pleased with the results. I don't know too much about detailing, but it sounds like the dealer used too abrasive of a rubbing compound and roughened the finish.
