Looking at buying Vibe

Post by EscapePod »

As the title says, I'm looking at trading in my current vehicle and buying a Vibe. I've read about it for some time, and kept track of it since it came out. I'd just like to see the latest about any complaints, problems, etc you guys have, as Vibe owners before I go in. Any suggestions you might have for me before buying, anything I should check for while at the dealership, anything I should ask for, feel free to post!

Well, so far there are not too many here that own 2004's. For those of us 2003 owners though, it seems that most of the small problems were worked out about halfway throught last model year. We will have to check with some of our newer members with an '04 to see if they are having any problems.I agree with Vibe...read the site and search for issues that you may be concerned with. It is the best way to help you make your decision. You will be very happy with yourself if you get a Vibe.

I'm set that I'm buying a vibe... I was pretty sure of it and then I found GENVIBE.COM. I have learned a ton here about good and bad things. But when you boil it done, everyone loves their vibe!Things I like about it:Great Gas mileage per gallonGreat LookGreat FeelGreat PriceI've been looking at others, Saturn Vue for one. But when I compare them to the Vibe.. The Vibe wins Hands down!!!I'm planning on getting mine within the next monthGo For It!

Good choice and glad to help.I like the VUE and my wife actually likes it too. It won't replace the Vibe but I may buy one to replace our minivan in a few years.

The worst I can say about it so far is the hangers on the rear grab handles are absolutely worthless for hanging my dry cleaning on. Seriously, that's the worst complaint I have. I LOVE this car!And reading GenVibe will definitely answer a lot of your questions. If you see something in a review and need more info on it, just search through the old posts or post your question here. This is a great place to really learn about the Vibe.

Now is the time to buy. GM just released thier quarterly figures and they are down from last year. Good incentives just released today. $2000 off on 2003 models. $1000 off on 2004 models. $750-1000 customer loyalty(just started today). Even if you do not own a GM vehicle they will geive you more money off. I am picking up my wife's 2004 tonight.
Just here to lend a hand to people who have questions about their Vibe.

Hey Taupecat....nice colour. I guess great minds think alike. HAHAHAHAAs for the Vibe... with the winter we have had in Canada this year, compared to the Matrix, I haven't had any problems with it. What more can I say...its a Japanese car in a domestic body. The best of both worlds for the price everyone should be able to afford.

There was a thread here several months ago about how to check if the dealer installed the dealer prep kit, something about putting in the plugs where they tie it down for transport or something like that.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=3283 and make sure they set the correct tire pressurehttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=1828 or any other dealer prep stuff. Also, maybe if you start to hesitate just before closing the deal, you might be able to get them to throw in a rear bumper guard or a rear cargo mat (or some other token item you might want).

The customers loyalty is accurate...the only thing that you can't use it with that I know of is the military discount.Shadow Realm

I love my vibe, just like everyone else. The biggest thing i can think of to suggest is that if you don't get a lot of snow, or go in sand and crap, get the base or the GT. the only gripe i have is that my gas mileage is a little low and my vibe is a bit sluggish sometimes
