I have a 2010 1.8l Vibe and I have noticed that I cannot turn off the headlights while the engine is running at night. I am assuming this is some type of safety feature, but often find myself wanting to run my vehicle without the lights on (not driving, but using the radio and the power converter while camping for instance). Does anybody know of a way I can turn the lights off while still running the engine? Thank you in a advance for any information on this!

Here ya go! Automatic headlight delete and daytime running light delete. There are several DIY's here on how to make it all manual, this is the first one I found.

Disabling the AHLs (Automatic Headlights) and DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) is one of the best things I have done to our Vibes. It's so nice to have full control over all the lights. Best of all, it's very easy to do. Let us know how it goes this weekend. Good luck !
