Hi, I'm Dewaker from Bowling Green, KY. I bought a 2006 Vibe GT with 32,000 miles on Friday. I love it and am looking forward to learning more about my car from everyone on this board. :)

It was the daily driver of a corvette owner. I guess he used it only during the winter.

Sounds about right for someone from Bowling Green, KY. ;)

Congrats on the Vibe! It's awesome that you found one with such low mileage. I was in such a rush to scoop up my '03 GT that I ended up with one that had a ton of miles. It was definitely a love-at-first-sight deal because it is the perfect car for me (quick, fun, useful, affordable, and at a local dealer). Getting one that's that young would be a major score.

Have fun with it! If you want a quick and cheap mod that will make your shifts feel even better, look for some brass shifter cable bushings. They should be under $30 and installation is relatively painless. I had some problems getting one of the old bushings off (the side-to-side movement) but the front-to-back swing bushing was easy. It makes a noticeable difference in accuracy and fun. As far as cost effective modifications go, the bushing swap ranks way up there.

Finally, welcome to the forum! You have a slick looking Vibe with an odometer that is sure to make a lot of people on GenVibe green with envy. ;)

All the best,

LKS

Thanks Zimm and LarryKingsShoes. I saw my car inside a used corvette dealership and I loved it even before I bought it. Got a good deal on it too! I'm going to look into the brass shifter cable bushings. Maybe after a few months some other mods.

Thanks J_TO_ENVY. I hit the jackpot with this car. Thanks to my boss, he was going to buy it but landed buying a second minivan as he has 3 kids. So he told me about it.

Welcome to GenVibe. Like others pointed out, when you said you're from BG Ky. that is the town where Corvettes are made. So it was no surprise to find out that the prior owner also drives a vette! Here in the Toledo area, we have BG Ohio just 25 miles south down I-75. Sounds like a nice find you have there. Post pics soon and visit often ............... :D

Thanks Mariachi and zyzyix. I didn't know that the 06 Vibe GT was rare. I am going to change the audio head unit in a week and as per LarryKingsShoes recommendation change the brass shifter cable bushings. Maybe next year, some rims, a cold air intake and upgrade the stock speakers, that's about it.
