Oil & Lube

Okay, I know it has been discussed but I am too lazy to search for it.I own a Pontiac Vibe. GM charges me $44 (Canadian) for a simple oil & lube which includes a free tire rotation every 10,000 km. the charge would be less, but they charge me $12.99 for a Toyota oil filter which they have to order from Toyota. It was suggested that for simple oil & lube I should go to my local Toyota dealer and get it done there for $26.99. However, when I called them, they didn't know that the Vibe actually had a Toyota engine in it and further more want to charge me more for a GM oil filter...that is until I told them otherwise. So, my question is, should I go to a Toyota dealer or not. I don't feel like paying more for the same job, but I am afraid that the Toyota dealer won't care since it isn't their car.Your opinion is greatly appreciated.

Hehe. Just kidding dude. Feeling sarcastic today. quote:GM charges me $44 (Canadian) for a simple oil & lube which includes a free tire rotation every 10,000 km. the charge would be less, but they charge me $12.99 for a Toyota oil filter which they have to order from Toyota. In the states, a filter from Toyota is about $6 off the shelf. Not sure how it works in Canadian bucks, but you're definitely getting overcharged IMHO.quote:It was suggested that for simple oil & lube I should go to my local Toyota dealer and get it done there for $26.99. No reason they should treat you any differently than they would a Toyota owner - after all, you are one. Just make sure they realize it's the 1ZZ (or 2ZZ) engine. Tell them up front.Another possibility is to go to a place that strictly does oil and lube. Finally, the most economical option is to do it yourself! It's quite satisfying to do it yourself, and even kinda fun!quote:Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Why thank you! [/QUOTE]
