OK, I have a 2003 AWD Vibe with two parts missing that I need replaced. I can't figure out what the parts are called, so I am asking for your help:

1. On the exterior of a door with the windows up, you have the metal part of the door. On the top edge of the metal part is a horizontal strip (or mold) that goes the length of the door and fits snug to the window glass. What in the world is that little strip of plastic called?

2. On the rear left floor, the carpet meets the outer edge where there are wires traveling front to back. On top of those wires is a plate that hides them and fits snug to the carpet. What is that plate called?

If you can suggest where to buy these parts, I would really appreciate it.

I'd say cheapest place would be a wrecked Vibe.

On the first piece, is it #1 in this pic? It is a belt molding.

Best place to find them would be at a salvage yard. They are ridiculously expensive from a dealer, like $200 and $45 respectively.

You can find a salvage yard on http://www.car-part.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; hopefully close to you. The belt molding they would only sell if the door is damaged since they usually sell the doors and such as intact pieces only. Or find a salvage yard on ebay that would be willing to ship the pieces. Search for Vibe parts and you will find several with pictures of the cars they are parting out.

Also, Bad Vibe on here is parting out a few cars in the For Sale area. He might have the parts you need. it would be worth it to send him a message.
