Jammed hatchback door

Hi everyone, I am new here and happy to see this forum exist. I just bought a nice red 2004 Pontiac Vibe; I love it. But a couple of weeks after my purchase; the hatckback door jammed. I feel a tension on the handle but no click. I tried with the key; no success. Tried with the inside button; the window open normally but not the door. I do not know if any of you experienced this before? I would like to remove the inside panel but the door is closed; do you think it possible?

Thanks for your help.

nah, you're not gonna be able to remove the panel w/ the hatch closed

I'd wiggle the key until ya get it (don't break that key tho)

The tiny access panel you for sure can pop off while the hatch is closed. That should be enough to reach in and pull the latch free.

OK. I know what little access panel you are talking about. I will try this weekend and let you know the outcome. Thanks for your advises and I hope it open. Then I will need to understand what happened!!!

Finally fixed it!

It was part of a plasitc screw (the ones holding the plate in place) that fell down and blocked the unlockingh system. I was also able to remove the whole plastic door trim even if the door was closed. I needed that otherwise there was no way I could have seen what was going on down there. Once that little (removed) was removed; the door work again!!! :D

Again; thanks for your tips!
