Got wrong ATF filter from ADVANCE!

Tried to install a new ATF filter on my 2005 today, but it wouldn't settle into position as i thought it should. Closer inspection and comparison to the original filter showed the NEW filter (part# FK-372) has the wrong bolt head relief pattern. See pic's.
Called Advance and confirmed part #. I'll return the filter tomorrow.
Found the correct filter at NAPA (1-8314).
This is a heads-up, just in case all their ATF filters are incorrect.
Oh yeah, 133K, in-radiator tranny cooler bypassed, and NO shavings etc. in tranny pan.

It looks like the top bolt hole got bent out. Is that correct?

No! You may be seeing the difference in the radius of the bend in the metal approaching the bolt hole. This appears to just be a minor design difference between OEM and a replacement part. The advance filter (right, in bottom pic.) fit the bolt holes, but would not seat onto the gasket surface because it has the wrong PATTERN of bolt relief dimples! I hope this answers your question. The NAPA part fit correctly (left filter, top picture).
I can't imagine some overworked kid in a corner garage ever noticing the filter missed seating by 1/4 inch, OUCH!

Sometimes the wrong part gets put into the "right" box. I've gotten a replacement PCV valve from them and had to return it because the wrong part was in there (in that instance, the wrong thread)
