Energy suspension motor mounts

OK, I did the front mount, as I'm too ginormous to fit under the car in the driveway. The rear mount has to wait until I get back to the shop and can get the car on the lift.

This is so easy, my 2 year old actually did it.

1. Jack up the front of the car.
2. Under the radiator, to the drivers side of the tow ring, there are two recessed bolts (14mm) that are for the mount. (torque to 38 ft-lb or 52 N-m)
3. Jack the transmission, use a 2x4 for cushion. JUST enough to take a little weight off the mounts.
4. Take out the long through bolt (14mm). I had to go under the car and remove the nut, as it's a little tight to swing the ratchet from the top. (torque to 64 ft-lb or 87 N-m)
5. To get out the mount you're going to need to use the "Sexy and I know it" method (wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, YEAH).
6. Clean the mount a little, get out your grease, slather the inserts, press the inserts in.
7. If you're only doing the front (as I did for now), then, re-install the mount in the reverse order you took it out. OTHERWISE, stay tuned, I'll edit this how to when I get the rear done.

I have read on MO that to do the rear, you simply don't put the front back in and work on the rear. they say it makes the job 100 times easier.

I'll take some reference pics when I do the rear mount, as it will be easier with the car up in the air.

Seems easy enough. The only bit that would make me nervous is jacking up the engine.

I used a 2x4 and placed the jack on the transmission, almost to the flywheel. This will be a little different in an auto, as you have another oil pan to be careful of. Your best bet may be to use the edge of the engine oil pan, or the edge of the trans oil pan, right where the bolt are. Your aren't putting any real force into lifting the motor, just taking enough weight off to remove the through bolt.

The rear mount may take a little more work in support placement, as I have read the motor needs a little shifting to get the inserts in. Like tilting the top of the motor towards the rear of the car for a little more room.
