hey friends! I have a 2003 GT 6SPD and for some reason my car is deciding to spit out of 6th gear. It's been happening for over a year now and I don't believe the shop guys who tell me my xmission is going or that it's my clutch. everything has and does work perfectly fine. No other gears are going bad and I'm certain that if it's been over a year, they aren't. I don't want to pay for an overhaul if I don't need one. Help anyone?
Have you checked the shifter linkage to make sure it has not moved out of adjustment? I've never looked at them on the Vibes, so I'm not sure how they work, but that would be my first thing to look at. I've also heard motor mounts could be an issue, throwing it out of wack. Check the external items first and maybe you will get lucky. Otherwise it could be a bearing wear issue or other internal issue causing the gears to not stay in place.
