I have just finished? swapping out the automatic in my 04 vibe for a 6speed, the car is running ok but milage is down and the check engine light stays on due to PCM issues from the automatic tranny that isn't there anymore. A mechanic said I can't reflash my pcm for manual programming due to vin-lock. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like you need a new PCM. A PCM from any 5-spd Vibe/Corolla/Matrix would work.

Man am I slightly jealous of you... that's exactly what I want to do to my Vibe.
