I live 20 miles or so from the factory, saw a truckload of them on the interstate today.

They got off to a rough start, a month ago Ford lost 3500 Escapes fresh off the line that were stored offsite to a nasty hailstorm. They said the weren't going to sell them...

An article I read said they were evaluating them and would not sell the damaged ones as new vehicles. I would love to get a hail damaged one for a good $5K off sticker or so. Our Exploder was a hail damaged vehicle, and we got it for about 1/2 the new price when it was less than a year old. With the PDR work being done now, you can't even tell it was ever damaged except for one small dent in a $35 trim piece that I've been meaning to replace.

It would be good if they sold them at a discount I guess -- seems wasteful if they don't. Dad bought an Impala SS at a discount several years back under similar circumstances. Just a scratch or two, no dents - he was able to get it looking nice with minimal effort.

here's an article from the local paper that gives you an idea how bad it was. They showed a few new Escapes on the news with busted windshields, going to take more than PDR to fix some of 'em. lol

And it barely even rained at our home in Indiana.
