The panic alarm does work on non-security Vibes. Just buying a Matrix fob allowed me to use this feature.

quote:He is aware of it.. He was kinda of surprised when Rasermon showed him. He took a few pictures of the keyless entry fob and wrote something down I believe....That is correct. He did write down some notes about it and he is going to check into it.I just bought a new key fob on Ebay as well. I wanted the panic button also.

I HATE the panic button. HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT. I used to drop my girlfriend off at her house, and we would get out of the car, it was great when the panic button would get hit in my pocket and honk the horn like crazy to wake up her parents. F that man, keep the panic button away from me.

'Tis not an abbreviation, but an actual word. It refers to the remote for the keyless entry system. Personally, I HATE that word, so I never use it...

I think on the remotes like we have, it isn't in a spot that can get accedentially bumped. But I will have to wait and see when I get mine.

I don't MIND the panic buttons -- but I have never felt a use for one...I'm just as happy without one.

Jeff was surprise when I showed it to him. He even had to try it out and took several pics of it. He ask me where I got it, I said ebay for $14.95. He said (LOL) that is a great deal.

Yeah, someone told me the wiring is all there for the panic button, just the button itself is absent...

Is the one with panic button any different than the regular ones ?Does it have a different design? It's a shame that the key fob has no logo on it, looks so generic

Looks identical, except the panic button is on the reverse side of the remote. And the hatch button has a picture instead of english wording.See here:

www.m-w.com , the proper usage is in connection with a pocket watch:2 : a short strap, ribbon, or chain attached especially to a pocket watch3 : an ornament attached to a fob chain People who call RKE remotes 'fobs' are adapting definintion #3, methinks. I hate it, too, and don't use it.

The closest I come to using the word fob is FAB, rather, the name of a cheapo laundry detergent.

I agree, I don't want one! There's other things they could be fixing!

GO to
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=fobOnly the 2nd definition of the last entry even gets close. I declare FOB to be a poor name for the little remote with our key.Anyone got a better name?KSNeptune
