Hey guys, just bought a used 03 Vibe with 105,000 miles on it. I got a good deal on it, and it looks great (see attached pic), but I know it needs some brake work. There's a sliding sound coming from the brakes all the time, and when I press on the brake pedal, there is a whooshing sound like air escaping. Any ideas? The engine also has vibration at idle, but only when the engine is cold, so no big deal right?

Re: the whooshing sound, take the vibe to your mechanic and ask him to check the brake booster.

Thanks guys! Yep, I'm out in Hawaii. The owner did say the brakes are probably rusty because the car was parked in the jungle for a month without being run. I'll get em checked out soon.

Nice 03'!! That idle problem sounds like the idle control sensor. I have replaced mine twice now. Have a good mechanic check it out.
