That sounds like a much better plan than trying to decide between the red wire and the blue wire...especially when Apollo and Zeus are in hot pursuit of ya! (I never worry about the countdown timer, it always stops on 1 second)

Aren't there enough distractions already out there that take us away from safe driving practices? :twisted: This will only increase the potential of more accidents

It's under the drivers seat. 3 bolts... 4 plugs... leave the unmarked silver box connected. I removed the onstar system years ago! And as a side benefit, it stops curious people from pushing the buttons on the rear view mirror!!! :D

Pulling the fuse located in the underhood box labelled "MAYDAY" will also shut down OnStar and darken the mirror buttons, with no other effects. Mine's been out for over 2 years now. That way if you ever so choose to re-enable it, or sell the car, it's easy to put right back.
This is on 2009-10's anyway - not sure about previous gen.
