I like what you did. I dream of doing the same some day. I like to have the rear camera system.
Can you or did you tap in Onstar into the system?
Do you know if Onstar phone setup can have a touch screen key pad?
I don't like Onstar in that you must speak or dictate the phone number.
Oh, is bluetooth workable with Onstar?

Yes I still have onstar. I purchased the onstar module from crutchfield. Onstar works independently of my radio though. Yes this system gets it power through the same wiring harness the radio hooks into, but in no way does any of its functionality work with my head unit.

Did you have steering wheel controls? If so, how did you get them to work properly? I have a Pioneer headunit and the Axcess Onstar/Chime module as well as the steering wheel control module, but it looks like the steering wheel control wires leading into the Onstar/Chime module are wrong...
Did you have or add any XM with this?
As you can tell, I'm trying to do something similar myself... and I got about 80% there before stalling due to these problems. I just... want... to finish...

Nope no steering wheel controls or XM/Sirious. Though neither are really needed. This radio has an outstanding array of Audio/Video selections. Heck I can watch youtube videos or stream Pandora.
This weekend I took apart the center console/storage compartment all the way to the armrest. I then routed the special pioneer cable through the area next to the parking break and into the bottom compartment of the armrest. This new cable Pioneer uses is very thick...thicker than 8 guage wire, and I had to get it out of the way, so I figured this would be the best place for it.

Aw dang. My car has steering wheel controls and XM already, and I'm trying to integrate those with my new headunit (I know I'll have to replace XM with aftermarket, hoping to integrate with factory antenna). And I really want to use my existing steering wheel controls. Sigh. But awesome for you on your install, I'm sufficiently jealous!

I see that you have crator in your rear door.
The rear camera view (picture) What does it say on the screen? And what added the red and green lines on the image. Looks like you are about to land the Vibe.
How much did it cost you for the system? $1000.00 ???

the crater was caused by my wife on my wedding night.
the screen says caution the image may be reversed
the red lines are ovelayed by the camera system to give you a point of reference to how close you are to something. this camera has it built in but i have read that you can get a inline adaptor to make it work forall cameras.
Total cost for ALL of it was $600.00, i did the install myself.

I wonder if this newer GMOS-LAN-012 would solve some of these problems. Link to another thread I just posted about it.

That's the one I've just gotten, I was using one of the older ones last year. It's still got the same problem with the wires being incorrect for hooking into the steering wheel control unit.
