So my Clarion NX-409 has recently died. Im not upset though as it was a POS to begin with. I have decided to go with a Pioneer AVH-8400BH. Supposedly from the reviews that I have been reading it is very good over all unit, and for only $500 its a great deal as well. My wife is it getting it for my birthday. Anyhow, I had a terrible time making my old reciever fit in the dash. I had the correct metra dash kit but my receiver sat recessed inside. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do to fix it?

Ok I measured my deck and it is exactly 7" but the dash kit is about 6.7". I guess that is the problem. Crutchfield sold me that kit and said it would fit. I am gonna need a new one. Anybody know which one I need for a 2009 Vibe double din?

One big thing I don't like abut the 09-10 cars, is the funky radio design. They don't want you to change out the radio!

One person on here did get a complete dash faceplate surround from a 09-10 Matrix with the Toyota navigation radio. The opening is rectangular and exactly a double DIN size. He put in one of the flat screen touch radio setups in it and it looked great. Wish I had that post bookmarked.

Here are some pics of it:
