Remote windows operation

Hello!
I always thought this would be an awesome thing to have... and a logical one to implant in every modern cars... to be able to ask the car to roll any windows on the cars... It's a good thing when it starts raining to be able to roll them up remotely... or at night, when you go to bed and suddenly remember you forgot the windows down after a hot day and don't wanna go outside at 0:00...

I also thought it would be logical to have a feature to close the windows when locking the doors with the key... holding the LOCK position for more than 3 seconds would roll-up all the windows.
Volkswagen are very into this feature and they rock for their ingenuity. On my OLD Golf '96, I could hold the LOCK position and the sunroof would close. My friend on his Wolfsburg could open and close his windows...

On the Vibe 2009+, we have the RESERVED ACCESORIES POWER, letting you operate the windows for less than a minute after the key got removed from the ignition, unless you open a door (what a STUPID and MORONIC feature to cut the R.A.P. if a door is opened... anyone knows if this is bypassable, beside unplugging the door switches?)

Now, I stumbled upon something, but I really don't think this applies to the Vibes, but on Toyotanation, there was a thread about the CAMRY 2012 being able to have its remote programmed for various options... since the VIBES use a similar car platform and the same key as modern CAMRYs, I thought I could ask the users here on GenVibe if this Toyota thread could apply to the Vibes...

Have a look!

There is also a PDF file about reprogramming the CAMRY 2012's remote...

This would be AWESOME to have on the Vibe, but like I said, I don't have much hopes about this.

Thanks!!

On the Vibe 2009+, do the windows have an autoreverse on obstruction feature? That is, if you command the windows up and your arm is in the way, does it sense that and back off or does it keep pushing, trying to close the window through your arm? Remote closure of windows could be handy, but if the windows are not autoreversing, then it could be fairly dangerous.

Some years ago we discussed the safety of auto up windows following this Vibe news item, http://www.sunjournal.com/node/121048 The discussion got fairly heated, was moved to the Political asylum and has since been routinely purged based on time of inactivity. It ended up as a debate on whether or not safety equipment should be required to prevent people from doing stupid things. Still, it is something to consider before you add a somewhat unattended windows up feature to your car.

Yeah, okay I see.
I don't really know if it has a auto reverse feature, since I never tried to cut my arm/hand, but the feature is probably asbent. We can lower the window with an automatic mode, but there is no auto mode for closing it. That's why I don't think there's an auto reverse.
I was actually wondering why there was a auto down mode but not a auto up... I found this weird... auto up is AS USEFUL than auto down.

Only on the sunroof has the autoreverse. The windows will keep on pushing breaking anything in their path!

A friend of mines '10 Maxima will roll the windows down by holding down certain keys down on the fob, but that becomes annoying because the Nissan key fob is poorly designed, in my opinion, and buttons are pushed way to easily in your pocked. I've gone outside and the windows have been rolled down and he had no idea. On the Maxima you cannot roll them back up with the fob.

Whoa, rolling the windows down and not up is very bad design. It's the first thing I would like... I don't care about rolling them down... I'll do it when I'll be in the car. I would want to be able to get them UP when it's late at night and forgot them, especially the SUNROOF! With my '96 Golf, I forgot the Sunroof a couple times and it rained during the night... I had to drive sitting on 2 towels because the seat was soaky. Oh and I almost lost my Alpine radi oto rain at the supermarket once... the sky was sunny, but while I was in the store, a major rainstorm came and wiped my interior good... the cluster was foggy for the rest of the day and so was my radio... I managed to make it work again, but the settings had been resetted, probably a short occured..!

So remotely closing the windows is the best wireless feature that you could have... after locking/unlocking and remote starter.
