I believe my 'Recirculation' button (underneath the A/C button) in my 2006 Vibe GT has gone bad. It's a single-throw (on/off) push button that doesn't click and stay depressed when it's pressed. Basically, right now, it's acting like a momentary switch where if I press it, the LED turns on, but as soon as I let go, the button returns to it's original position and the LED turns off. It does this no matter what settings I have the air system set at. Is it possible to repair this button myself? Is the part available? How hard is it to do? I've never removed the dash before - so assume I know nothing. Thanks!

It might just need to be removed and cleaned with some electrical parts cleaner. But the part is available new, and used I'm sure. As for getting to it, I understand you just have to pull the trim panel off the car, it snaps in place, and then unplug the controls and it is probably held in place with a few screws.

If on any defrost mode setting recirc won't work.

Thanks for the replies- I already knew about the defrost setting- that wasn't the cause.

I'm still not sure what the issue was, but I ended up turning the the control to OFF, then hit the A/C button a few times which was still toggling, turned my system back to LO and sure enough, it started working again. Who knew /shrug
