WANTED.............i need a left rear backing plate and disc brake caliper mounting bracket for my 2005 Pontiac Vibe GT. If anybody has a wrecked vibe GT and would sell me this part, or can tell me if they know of a wrecked vibe GT and it has this part. Please contact me ASAP thanks John

BUMP! id really appreciate it more than anybody knows, if your reading this and know of a wrecked vibe with rear disc brakes and have access to it or information you can provide me on acquiring this part, im told that only 10% of vibes 2003-2007 had rear disc brakes and this part is $380.00 from the dealership and very hard to find as a used part. thanks John

BUMP! somebody out there has got to have a junk 2003-2005or 2006, or they know the whereabouts of one, Im really in need of this part............and am hoping that somebody will see my post and respond with a reasonable price for this bracket. I think its absolutely absurd that GM wants $300.00 for one. HELP!

Vibe GT, Matrix XRS 03-08, and Corolla XRS 03-08, and Celica 00-05 have interchangeable rear disk brake parts.
Use http://car-part.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and search for "Brake Rotor/Drum, Rear". It can bring up wrecking yards in your area that have cars with rear disk brakes. It's likely a car that has disks listed also has the bracket you need.

For left and right side. cant remember which part # is right or left.

Other parts you can get aftermarket at cheaper pricing.

Just wanted to see if I could get an update from anyone who has tried Toyota rear backing plates for their Vibe, specifically for the GT. Just wanted to confirm I could do the same as it is difficult to find reasonably priced GM backing plates. I bought a 2003 Vibe GT and the plates are rusted away almost completely. Any input would be appreciated!

Which plate do you need? I bought a pair off of a celica gts, but only need the rear passenger side. I even have a wheel bearing to come with it(I've already knocked them out, but I have no use for them).

Thanks for responding, ken. I need both rear backing plates as they are both in very bad shape. I took it to a local mechanic this weekend and he is going to look into the getting the whole rear axel because he thinks it might actually be cheaper that way. I will keep your offer in mind just in case he is able to find only a passenger backing plate. I should be hearing back from him this week.

Did you get those from a junkyard down in PA? I don't think I would be able to find those in that good of shape in upstate NY. They don't last too long with the salt they spread up here.

I sourced these from the Carolinas I believe.

I'm not sure if they will come with an axle or not. If they do, please post some photos and the info on where to get them!

My mechanic hasn't had any luck yet but I will give an update if/when he finds something.

Like I said I only needed the passenger side so I still have a extra driver's side. Make an offer.

is the drivers side rear backing plate still for sale? if so, please let me know I still need one. also looking for front and rear brake dust shields.
