Gen 2 Vibe AC adequate?

Ever since I got my 2010 GT I have thought that the AC is not as cold as any of the my previous or even newer cars (purchased a 2011 Outback and 2011 Sienna since). It just seems to me kind of "lazy", never gets super cold. All my other cars you would have to make some adjustments after a while as it got uncomfortably cold on MAX.Anybody else?Should I take it to the dealer as the warranty is getting closer to end and have it looked at? I even replaced the cabin filter.

Wouldn't hurt to have it looked at. I haven't used mine in any hot Houston weather since I just got it in December, but the few times I have used it, I did have to turn it off pretty soon after I turned it on. I haven't tinted my windows yet, or even bought a sun screen, and it cools down the cabin pretty quickly during the 85 degree days we've had so far.Someone else on here does have a post about adding a pusher fan to the AC condenser to try and lower the AC temps, especially at idle.

The AC in both our Vibes works fine. We don't use it too much, but when we have it gets really cold really fast.

I've never noticed but I've not had any super long super hot periods here in Portland.

I'm in Arkansas so I see a lot of HOT MUGGY summers. Never had a problem with mine. Temps have been in the 80's this week and its doing a fine job.

i'd say that my experience is similar to yours Vit. it blows cold, but there's no way to get it "super cold." my previous vehicles could always get meat lockerish, but my vibe just gets comfortable-sometimes not really even that when it's 90+. even in the 75-80 degree weather we've had the last week, it never got super cold.

Maybe the system is just a little low on charge? Does the fan blow lots of air, but just not really cold? (My fan puts out a ton of air on 4.)My '09 A/C works fine - hot humid summer of '10 in KY, and last August here in Germany, where it was actually in the mid-high 90s for almost a week. I do have window tint, though. This is a remote possibility, but it happened on our '98 Pontiac Montana. The baffle that opens up and closes off the heater core duct got stuck partway open - turning the dial would work on Hot, but even with the A/C on it was never really cold, because there was always hot air from the heater being fed into the ducts. Got that fixed, and got that A/C meatlocker feeling back.

Mine works fine. Make sure you push the recirculate button. What is called "max" on some vehicles is when it is recirculating the cabin air. On our Vibes you have to push the recirculate button independently.
