At the 2009 NYC Auto show. A specialty company converted a 2009 Pontiac Vibe into an electric vehicle.

Nice to see that there could be possibly a future retro-kit for our Vibes in the distant future I wonder what that "former 1.8L base model" weighs now

Something about that metal shift knob would scare me in an electric car.Yeah, it has to weigh quite a bit more now. Wonder what the rear hatch area looks like - all filled up with batteries now?

That was my thought as well. I kept thinking why he didn't just leave it in like 3rd or get rid of the trans, unless he wanted the power the electric motor produces at near idle. OR, unless he didn't want to have to reverse the motor via a controller. Of course, the prospect of 5 or 6 reverse gears is something to consider as well. LOL

I like that he kept the tranny in there. it means you can still row your own gears and have some fun while in your electric car. Next thing he needs is the system in the BMW M5 F10 which plays the engine noise through the speakers on the interior, and he's set!
