Today I finally repositioned that passenger wiper arm that used to point at the sky. Looks much better-makes the car look more streamlined. A real simple fix. Tommorrow--I will disable the daytime running lights. Then give her a super coat of wax. James( Vibe)

quote:Please elaborate...If you stand in front of your Vibe and look at the 2 wipers while parked, you will notice that the passenger side blade is higher up and on a slight angle due to the higher park position. What James (and I) did was to reposition the passenger side arm slightly lower so it parks lower and level with the driver side blade. To do this, remove the small plastic cap at the pivot point of the passenger side wiper arm and remove the nut holding the arm to the stud. Then remove the wiper arm from the stud and re-install it lower and level to the driver side blade. Re-install nut and cover and you're done.

Thanks for jumping in and providing an answer. I am not the best a typing and you saved me some time.Yes --It looks better --I noticed that the day I picked up my Vibe and thought it was just mine until I looked at others.I might add that I also put a VERY VERY little drop of loctight on the nut since sometimes removing a fastener takes away from the original snug fitting threads. Just a quick warning: If you lift the hood to do this little job, be sure the wiper arm is in the down position before you lift it. If not you will scratch the hood. I'm good at this.

I HAD done this...but then I put it back. It doesn't bother me so much the wipers are visible when parked -- but when I adjusted it, the pattern didn't match up; the passenger blade at it's vertical point left a water mark about 3-4cm above the arc of the driver blade -- whereas in the factory location, it meets up just at the edge of the arc. Know what I mean?Anyway, that misalignment bothered me more, so I put it back.

Know what I mean?I know exactly what you mean. That non-overlap creates a drip that always runs down the windshield. It only happens when it rains (obviously) and hasn't annoyed me enough yet to make me put it back.

It wasn't even the drip so much, as the fact it didn't align. I'm (removed), and when things don't line up perfectly, it drives me NUTS!!!! Like my headlight isn't perfectly flush with the rest of the front end (casualty of the CAI install), and it's making me nuts -- I'm gonna make a dealer visit one of these days just to get that fixed. Argh.
