Welcome to GenVibe! The true name is indeed Mystic Blue Metallic and it is/was a rare color and only available on the 2009 Vibes. It's a very cool looking color !Looking forward to seeing pictures!

Oddly enough GM does not seem to know what to call this color When I went to order touch up paint for my Mystic Blue Metallic at the local GM dealer, I gave them the pain code from my build sheet(stuck to the glove box) which is 82U. GM calls this color Traverse Blue Metallic. The color of the touch up paint is the same as the paint on the carSo if you are getting touch up paint give them the color on your build sheet

Good info to have. Thank you!You know, with every car there is a story and mine started before I even got to the dealer. They called me up, after I drove an hour and a half to tell me they sold the car that morning. So I was steaming mad - but I came in to see if they had another Vibe that would fit the bill. I test drove a few, and then my sales rep went out and got me...and told me that the financing didn't go through for the folks this morning...and the car was available.A 30 minute detail later (looks like they took it mudding before they brought it back >.>) and I was good to go!Always a story behind a good car.

Welcome aboard!I had a similar experience at the dealer when I bought mine. I was looking at another 2010 AWD and the deal was basically done..or so I thought. Drove 10 minutes home, cleaned out my car I was trading, drove back less than half an hour from first saying I'd take it, only to see the Vibe gone..no big deal, probably getting it ready. Go in to the salesman and his look said it all...miscommunication led to the car he 'sold' me being already sold when he showed it to me. To say I was a bit warm is an understatement. They scrambled and found me another Vibe 400 miles away, did a dealer swap and all was well. Ended up getting a seven year, 50,000 mile warranty thrown in for my trouble JR

My story was - got up about 9 am on Saturday morning, January 10, 2009 and was reading the newspaper ads. The nearby Pontiac dealer had 4 new 2009 1.8L with AT and PP Vibes MSRP $19,480 advertised at $2,000 under invoice [ I think GM must have given them an incentive to take those 4 off their hands], less $500 rebate and $1,000 loyalty rebate on top of that. Plus a free Garmin GPS. I also had a GM Card offer giving me a $3,000 rebate if I bought a GM car by 1-31-09.. I told my wife I had to go buy a car. I first called to make sure the ad was not a mistake, then quickly got dressed and went there. There was a white one, a black one, and two charcoal grey ones. I bought the charcoal grey. I think they only sold two of those 4 cars that weekend. Didn't even try to trade-in my 2003 Vibe with 33,000 miles - easily sold that myself for $9,500. Net cost to trade up from 2003 to new 2009 was less than $3,700.

Welcome! Glad to have you! It seems as though it was meant to be! My Vibe showed up at a dealership I pass by every other weekend. It was everything except the GT package I wanted. I drove it ASAP, fell in love, and then got the bad news that the folks who were going to buy my Jeep (aka, down payment on the Vibe) had to wait for their taxes, almost a month away! It was nerve wracking, calling the dealer every other day to make sure "my" car was still there, but she waited for me! A nice little gem that belonged from the factory to the dealer's wife

Welcome Jerry T!I think you'll find there is very little to do to maintain the Vibe all the way up to $100k.

Welcome Jerry Although this pic is NOT of your car, I thought I'd throw it out there for others to see this RARE color. I've only seen ONE of this color in person and some of the members may have NEVER seen any yet. It is a rare color indeed. Also I really like the introduction you gave us here " Just got my FIRST Vibe". This is to imply that somewhere down the road you'll be acquiring a SECOND Vibe If you do then you'll be joining the ranks of SEVERAL of us here who are Two Vibe families

I'm having that same feeling with my second vibe. Need to make the downpayment money quickly. Keep checking in with them. Hope it's still there. My current vibe is a hand me down from my mother. Bought new, ordered with everything GT except the motor (dang) and wheels (double dang). This car has been to a fair amount of places in America. Sea to shining sea. It carried my grandfather to his final resting place in Yellowstone and was kissed by the salty Washington air. Just think of the adventures it will have during the other 3/4 of its life.

I will most certainly be picking up another. Here is a pic of the actual car - did they describe the color correctly? The dealer has one in the same color that tpollauf posted - but the dealer called it just 'blue'. I'm confused. A quick VIN search showed every metallic color they had was an option on this car...guess I'll run out and see what the actual color code is before I start touting I have a rare colored car! XD

I think yours is the Steel Blue color, not the Mystic Blue. Most dealers have no clue on the colors and even if they know the correct names, they just make a guess. I've seen so many red cars listed as Salsa or Lava, and they were the wrong ones when you saw the pictures. All the close colors in 09 & 10 didn't make it any easier.

In that shot, the car looks nearly purple!! I like it, but have never seen a Vibe or a Matrix in a color like that. Cool!!And welcome aboard GenVibe also!!

Glad we got that all cleared up! Just changed out the rear wiper blade today as well...the manual wasn't very helpful on it, though
