im in process of buying new tires, i had bought my rims new last year from http://www.thewheelconnection.com & they offered 1 tire size package 215/35/18, i figure its too small & didnt buy the tires from them since i went ahead & bought 225/40/18, i feel like i can go a little bit wider on the tires since the 225s fit perfect! any suggestions on how much wide i can possibly go with? or has anyone done it?thanks

I put 235/40/18s on my GT a couple of months ago, and to me, I think I can go a bit wider if I want to. I know an optional size for my son's 06 Vibe with the 17" wheels is 245/45/17 tires per Discount Tire, so I would think a 245 on an 18" wheel should fit. Actually a 245/45/17 is almost the exact same size as a 245/40/18 according to this tire size calculator. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
