Didn't see this posted elsewhere, so ...2004 Vibe is ranked #4 on Kelley's Blue Book (KBB) 10 Best Used Cars Under $8,000.Quote »Owners of the Pontiac Vibe always seem to get around to praising two aspects of this small, tall wagon: its gas mileage and its comfort. If you need some passenger and cargo space and don't need some kind of status-flaunting accessory, the 2004 Vibe may just be the ticket for you. Kelley Blue Book Retail Value as of December 2011: $7,630.

Nice! The whole list is quite diverse. And I'm sure that if this community were asked to vote, the Vibe would be #1, 2, and 3!

Makes sense. I was *very* interested in the Protege5 before the Vibe. Nearly every used model I saw was well taken care of and just looked fun to drive. And for what it's worth, that model year design of the Civic in the #1 slot was the best looking, IMO. Each year afterward they continued to get more and more spaceship-like. My neighbor has a 4-door 2010 Si in black which looks nice, but when it's a 2006+ plain Jane Civic... meh.

Ditto. We were looking for something my son could haul around his band equipment in along with a couple of his friends, and the Mazda 3/ Protege, and also the Ford Escape/Mercury Mariner were two prime choices. Then I saw a 2005 Vibe at the Ford dealer, test drove it, and my son really liked it. Ended up not getting that one due to mileage and obvious wreck damage, but found his car several weeks later as I was planning to go buy a black 2005 Matrix. Glad I checked cars.com one more time before I left to the other dealer!
