So for the last 6 months or so, I had developed a slow leak in a few of my tires. Since I had around 40K miles on the stock Goodyears, I just chalked it up to them being old and perhaps picking up some tiny cracks or holes or something. These tires suck at pretty much everything, so why wouldn't they suck at holding air?... but I digress.Toward the end, it was getting out of hand, where I had to put air in them every couple days. When I was getting my new tires installed, the guy showed me one of my wheels with the tire removed, and you could see significant corrosion around the inside bead surface on the wheel. That is what was causing the leak. I do use these wheels in the winter, but there is no way a 3 year old factory aluminum wheel should corrode to the point that the tires no longer hold air. I searched and found that some people have had corrosion issues, but none seemed to be in the bead area. My question to the group is: Has anyone had any success getting GM to repair/replace the stock wheels for corrosion? Thanks in advance for your response.
I had a wheel corrosion issue back in 83 with a New Dodge D50 ,to brief my reply >>> No Replacements.Still cant believe I traded my 76 Vette in on that POS

One of the 18" wheels on my 2009 GT had to re-mounted and balanced last spring because the tire wasn't holding air, but the tire guy didn't say anything about corrosion and it's been fine ever since. We remove our 18s during the winter.

On one of our 09 gt's, the one with the higher mileage AND has been driven through two Cincinnati winters, we just recently had a "slow leak" repaired and we were told that it was leaking around the bead. These rims are still in very good condition to where there is no noticeable corrosion, yet somehow the bead area wasn't sealing tightly to where we had to put air in about twice a month. This sounds like an isolated YET realistic issue with these rims depending on where you live/drive
I have had a heck of a time with one of my tires. Bought new tires a few weeks ago only to find it completely flat the next morning. Tried to air it up, but air came out as fast as it went in. The tire had separated from the wheel. I saw three of the guys trying to remount the tire. I ask what was up, but never got a clear answer, but they told me they put sealant around the edge on the inside.
