FS: 2005 Pontic Vibe GT $7000 O.B.O

I owned my Vibe GT for almost two years now and I am selling it because I don't need 2 cars and my other is paid off. It just rolled over 100,000 miles. About 5k ago I put in a new clutchmasters stage 1 clutch. It has a Cosmo Racing SRI and a custom Front strut brace. New spark plugs from the dealer and recent tune up and oil change. It is blue with grey trim and in great shape. Yes this is a re-post, with price reduction.

It might help to give some additional details on options. Which of the following does your Vibe GT have? This would help potential buyers determine the value of the vehicle and make an informed offer. 17 Inch Alloy Wheels AM/FM Audio System AM/FM/CD Changer Audio System Anti-Theft Alarm System Cruise Control Engine Block Heater Front Side Airbags Front and Rear Head Airbags Leather Seating Navigation System One-Touch Power Window(s) Power Glass Sunroof Remote CD Changer Remote Power Door Locks Satellite Communications (OnStar) Satellite Radio System Steering Wheel Cruise Controls

My price matches dealer pricing and craigslist pricing. You can keep your opinion to yourself as you have not seen the car and don't know its condition. Thanks and BUMP!!I am only looking to get what I owe on the car so I dropped the price. Not in a hurry to sell.

Like they say - if it isn't selling maybe the price is too high. While $7,000 seems reasonable to me the market seems to be telling you otherwise. What you owe has absolutely no relevance at all. My experience tells me that a GT will probably not fetch a much higher price than a base. It also tells me that manual transmission cars appeal to a much smaller audience. Don't shoot the messenger.

In my spare time I did a little on-line research on Vibe resale values etc. While I am not a fan of high mileage used vehicles, even if it is a " closet Toyota", the quality is a lot better today than when I bought a problematic used Toyota Celica with 103,000 miles (can't remember the model year). You see a lot of 100,000 mile vehicles on the market with asking prices way north of $7,000. I just don't know why you are having trouble selling your 2005 GT at that price. I suspect Craigslist is mostly bottom feeders looking for a steal. I have had a lot of success over the years in selling my used vehicles for a nice premium over what dealers offered in trade - of course all were pretty low miles. The last one I sold I just sent an email to everyone I knew. The time before that I placed an ad in the local Columbus Dispatch Newspaper - cost me about $30. the time before that it was just someone who saw the car parked with a for sale sign in the window.

Just a heads up I got a dealer quote to buy this car from me for $5500. By most estimations you can easily add 2k for private party price. SO my price at $7000 is actually low. Make me an offer but know that $5500 was turned down...

I've been lurking on this forum for a bit while I research buying a used Vibe. So far it's top on the list of used cars that I'm looking at as far as cargo capacity/fuel economy/reliability/price. I was shying away from the GT model at first because I just assumed the gas mileage would take a hit. What have you gotten for mpg in this car?
I'm in Texas, but if I were in California, I'd definitely be looking hard at your car. Thanks.

I have never checked what mileage I get in my car. I haven't really taken any long trips that would give me an accurate reading.

No offer at all? Maybe no one in your area has any money.
I was surprised to see trade in almost $800 lower than auction.

There is a LOT of selection in his area.

His biggest hurdle is going to be the manual transmission. Rush hour in his area is not fun... especially when you're constantly in first and on the clutch!

It's a very good price. Even in my area where Vibe prices are higher. There's a local Vibe that's been for sale for a long time, for a good price. But it's a manual.
Talk up the stick. Tell potential buyers about the better control, and higher gas mileage, amongst other things. Offer lessons on stick-shift driving.

FYI, my '05 GT gets 25-30 mpg no matter how much time I spend at 8000 rpm. Never got worse than 25mpg.

and it's largely stock.

my 03 gt has never gone below 25 mpg either...when I try I can get 30 mpg no problem and that's in LA traffic. I am interested to see what you can get for ur 05 gt cause i m going to have to seel mine in a few years or so.
