At a lost.....replaced brake line. Caliper, and brake pads and brake is still locking up on front passenger side. Any ideas. Master cylinder is fine.

How's the left front? If it was seized I can see more brake pressure being sent to the other side.

welcome to genvibeif the caliper, and caliper mounting hardware is all ok, and with new shoes and even a new brake line, I'd be stumped also. I'd tend to assume that whatever problem caused you to replace all that stuff is still there, and that it is not solving one problem by replacing the caliper and introducing another with a bad install. when I had to replace the front passenger caliper in one of these cars, the new unit came with a new mounting bracket and new slide pins, which I used to replace the original ones. Did yours? (I also found out a racket the state of MD has going. The core charge was $50, and the store was required to charged me MD standard 6% sales tax on that, $3, but they were not allowed to refund my $3 when I returned the core and got my $50 back. Only $3, but the principle bothered me)How is the rotor? Not warped, no outrageous surface damage? Does it appear to spin in the plane perpendicular to the movement of the caliper? Is it possible to see where the brake cylinder contacts the inner brake pad? If so, it should be flat against the pad, no gap on one side.If you free up the brakes, does it lock up the first time you step on the brakes, or does it take some time to lock up again? If you take the caliper off, (and put the car in neutral, not running) does the rotor/axle spin freely? With the caliper off the car, if you step on the brakes slightly to push the cylinder out a little, is it appropriately easy to push the cylinder back into the caliper? (I have no idea what amount of force is "appropriate" )Did this all start for no apparent reason, or was it the result of some front wheel trauma, such as hitting a curb or a killer pothole?

I am having the same issue on '04 vibe. did you find the solution to your issue? changed, cal, hose, etc... it is the ABS controller or the Master cylinder? mine release after an hour of so of rest. and sometime it locks up so much the car does not move anymore!
