Valet key?

I only received one key with my 2003 Vibe (base). *After* I brought the car home I discovered that the key only opened the driver's door and worked in the ignition. I initially thought "oh shoot, I only have a valet key". After reading the owner's manual, I'm not to sure - no mention of a valet key.Did a valet key come with the 2003 Vibe?

Nope. You own a hatchback/wagon. What would a valet key do? No trunk.

i've seen this issue before. worn out the commonly used lock cylinders.previous owner probably put heavy use on the door and column cylinder and no others during their ownership. Key and the cylinders wore down evenly while the rest remained closer to factory spec. The key may be worn down enough to no longer fully engage the rest of the locks and hatch that have not seem a similar wear pattern.is your key rather smoothed out and loose when inserted?

Doh! True, with a hatchback there is no trunk to secure. Does the glovebox lock? Bedlam - yes, the key does look fairly smooth and is easy to insert in the door and ignition. What's the going rate to have a GM dealer cut a key from the VIN?

The engine produced 375 BHP in earlier models and 405 BHP in later models. The ZR1 featured a unique 'valet key'. The valet key can be found on the centre console and when switched to 'Normal Power', the engine would run with around 250 BHP. But when switched to 'Full Power' mode the full power of the LT5 is there to be unleashed.ya need that key

mine does the same...started in April 2yrs agoI think our best bet is to go to the dealer and have a new key cut.I had a spare made of my key before it wore down, and it still opens the passenger door just fine
