Toyota door check?

I need to replace the driver's door check on my '05 Vibe. I see that Toyota sells theirs for $50-60 instead of the $120ish that GM gets. Does anyone know if the Toyota part is compatible? Any cheaper source for the GM version?Thanks!

Comparing mine to my fathers matrix. I would feel comfortable saying they are exactly the same

I work for an autobody shop and i just changed a 2005 vibe one with one from a 2005 matrix and it worked so 99% chance it will work

had to replace the door check on the passenger side of my 05 vibe. mechanic went with the toyota part because it was 1/2 the price of GM's. fits perfectly.

Any chance of a part number? I looked on some websites and there were a half a dozen numbers for each door. No one could explain the difference. They kept asking for my VIN and they would get me the right one. Couldn't get it through their heads that I didn't have a Toyota.

It looks like the part number for the driver's side door is 68620-02061.

So, I finally installed the door check using the Toyota part number above. Everything went in ok, but I had to grind off about 3/4 of the outside edge of the tab inside the door so the window wouldn't hit it. I don't know what that indicates, but it works, now. Thanks for the tips.

i am pretty sure that they are the same but of course new toyota parts are still better to give priority on since the parts' quality are proven and tested.

Anyone see the window catching a door check when rolled down? I am facing this problem and am seeking alternatives to replacing the check. Lets face it, I'm cheap..

There was a recall for that very problem.
Buy the new one and grind it down or visit your local auto wreckers.
