I'm finally in... to genvibe that is, and I gotta say I'm looking forward to being here. Yours is a very active and well informed community of enthusiasts that I hope to be able to contribute to.We bought our '08 Vibe new in '07, so obviously the warranty has finally run out. Since this is the first new car I've owned in 40 years with a drivers license I thought I would take full advantage of the warranty. In 3 years the dealership replaced 2 burned brake light bulbs for free. A testament to how well these cars are put together. Also positive reinforcement that we made the correct purchase decision. The car has met and exceeded all our expectations to the 80,000Km mark and I am sure will continue to do so with the aid of the Genvibe community. I am especially impressed with the level of friendship and patience displayed by the members of this forum. Sometimes egos can get in the way. I've not noticed that here. Keep up the good work people.I'm looking forward to doing a little wrenching on the Vibe now that the warranty has run out. The other car that I built and currently maintain is a '77 924. I spent 8 years taking it apart and putting it back together with the aid of the 924 community of enthusiasts so am well aware of the satisfaction and rewards membership in a club such as Genvibe can provide. Let the fun begin.

Welcome aboard. Please post pics of your Vibe. Your Vibe parts are going to be much cheaper then the parts for the 924.Oh remember that the Vibe is a mechanical twin to the Matrix so you will find some parts might be cheaper the buy at the local Toyota dealerAgain welcome to Genvibe

Thanks for the warm welcome people. I'll try to get some pictures posted soon. Would I post them here in the Lounge or is there a more appropriate forum? Is there a write up somewhere on how to post pictures? I haven't yet had time to become fully acquainted with all the features of the board, I've been too busy benefiting from the sage advice provided by members. The original tires (Goodyear RS-A's) were fast approaching the end of their useful life after 80,000Km so I did a little searching here on the board and discovered the consensus recommendation to be for the Continental Extreme Contact DSW's. As I live in an area where we get very little snow I was looking more for a high performance all season than a snow tire. I will admit, there are cheaper tires in the marketplace but after having a set of four of these Conti's installed and test driven in one of our heavier downpours I am impressed. They're worth every penny. Confidence inspiring handling and extremely quiet when compared to the OE's. The opinions expressed here were spot on and certainly helped me make an informed and ultimately satisfied buying decision. Thanks again to those who contribute to the discussions.
