Red/Gray/CF dash

Finally got my cruise control module built, so you can just barely see the stock on the back of the wheel. It sits behind it almost invisibly. Redid a couple panels with vinyl and painted the rest. Have a vacuum and volt gauge coming that match the stock gauges with chrome bezels that will mount in A/c locations (most likely). The module was basically a $2.00 radio shack project box (used for making flashlights, relays, etc) with a hole cut in each side for the wires and the stalk, mounted to the steering hub so it spins with the wheel. Wrapped in CF vinyl to match.

Is it real CF or a vinyl? Also; how can you tell where the HVAC is set?

Vinyl, and good question. You cant tell. I'm still working on a way for it to shine through. My newest idea is to get stickers made of the original pictures on the A/C panel, and then place them around the ring. Then get a red dull light to shine on it from inside the dash so it just barely peeks out from the cracks on the sides.

To be honest I was thinking of doing the same sort of thing but I didnt know how I could tell where the controls were. What vinyl did you use?

You could make it out of real carbon fiber and use a dermal to let the light throughDay shot not very good.Night.

That is a thought. The night shot I can't really tell what is going on, but I thought about doing a real wrap of CF. Too much time involvement for this week and this whole last month (getting married tomorrow). But I like the idea. I too set up a new gauge, but it's in the A/C location on the far right. I wanted it to look like part of the car. What gauge pod did you use on the left there? I was wondering if the Celica one would be similar... or if its just a generic one. Also... where did your clutch pedal go?

The steering wheel itself is a generic wheel off ebay That i reinforced with glue and better stitching ( must be done or they come apart) The hub is for a toyota Celica. All together it costs $50.
