New Owner with a question

I recently purchased an 05 Base Model. Couldn't be happier. Sure the interior isn't is nice as my previous Audi, but it's in ALOT better mechanical condition and gets WAY better gas mileage. On that note, what size is the gas tank on these cars? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Just want to know for my general curiosity.Looking forward to seeing you guys around.

I believe 13 gallons is the official capacity, though I haven't run mine down that far to see if it's accurate.

Maybe they didn't know - just like they never seemed to know what kind of antifreeze is in there from the factory. My '09 book lists 13.2 gal for 1.8L and the 2.4L engine. The book makes mention of AWD elsewhere. I doubt they have a separate owner's manual for the AWD. The 2009 Vibe brochure lists fuel capacity at 13.2 gal for all models and engines.

I looked in the manual but couldn't find it. Don't know how I'm supposed to see that 1 spec page. Thought they would have put in in the paragraph where they explain the fuel system and what type of gas to put in. Was surprised it's 13.2. First time I ran it down, the light came on, drove it for about 10 miles or so, filled up with 8.8 gallons, next time it came on, i drove it around for probably about 20 miles or so and it filled up with 11.6 gallons. Anyone else get such in-consistancy in the gas warning light?

My experience is that it takes a little over 10 gal to fill it after the low fuel light comes on. Of course sometimes the gas pump shuts off before the tank is full - that might explain the 8.8 gal fill. But then my experience with the low fuel light coming on is limited as I am (removed) about running out of gas and usually fill up when it get below 1/2 tank. Ever been on a trip with less than 1/4 tank and got stuck in a slow crawl traffic jam and you start worrying about running out of gas? And of course when you are old like me you need more frequent pit stops anyway.
