2009 Ultra White Vibe 2.4L

So I guess this is my way of introducing myself, jumping right in and sharing my Vibe. I originally had a 2005 Matrix (sadly, she is no more, thanks to a hit and run that totaled her earlier this year... photos, if you care to see them, are here ), and I loved it so much that I wanted another... but while doing online shopping for another used one, I couldn't find one with all the options I wanted on it, so instead I looked at the Vibes since they are twins. And I found my new baby...That was on February 22, 2011, the day I brought her home. Specs:2.4L engine, 5-speed shiftable automatic transmissiontraction controlpower door locks, windows and mirrorspower steering, cruise controlfog lightsmoon roofroof rack (which currently has two Thule kayak carriers on it)window and sunroof guardssingle disc CD player (never even use it, I've always got my XM on or my iPhone playing one of my playlists)premium 7-speaker systemMods:windows tinted (unsure of % that he did them, am going to find out soon)18"x8" Privat Legende graphite with machined lip wheels with Sumitomo HTR ZII summer tiresmetallic red powdercoat on the 17" stock wheels with Hankook Ventus V2 Concept tires (to be used as my winter set)Momo Grand Prix pedals Dealer logos removed and debadgedSilBlade wiper blades (black and red, of course!)rear bumper protector (I got the Matrix one that wraps over the lip as opposed to the Vibe one that doesn't wrap)bug deflector3" carbon fiber antennaK&N Typhoon cold air intakePlanned mods:caliper paintdrilled and slotted rotorsMagnaFlow cat back exhaustunder-hood accent painting and powdercoatingand countless more that I haven't thought of yet Here's another one from about two months ago...Editing for a few wet and rainy iPhone photos from earlier today.Side view, I love the window tint with the white! My 17" Focals, which are now in storage until next spring.Black and red SilBlades to keep with the black and red accent color theme... though I do wish the red was more vibrant. And the original wheels... my boyfriend cleaned them up, fixed the curbage from the prior owner, and powdercoated them for me because he's seriously awesome like that. Editing to add new photos... I severely lack patience, so the red wheels are on her already. That's a shot with the sun hiding behind a cloud. They are super metallic and bright...Ooh, shiny! And one shot of the pre-debadged tail.Edited 10-14-11 to add two new photos...I debadged her a few weeks ago and added a rear bumper protector. Still want to remove my PGH sticker at some point when it's not dreary and rainy outside, but I'm planning to keep the other ones (Under Armour logo, Apple logo, Resident Evil Umbrella Corporation logo on the rear window, the Manufactured by Firefly sticker on the gate, and my favorite tattoo parlor's sticker because they have monthly contests). Also added a new license plate frame, it was chrome until I let the boyfriend have some fun, he powdercoated it (and the screws) metallic red to match the wheels. And I added a bug (or, in my case, bug and stone) deflector on the hood. 10-19-2011 - She got a very needed hand-wash yesterday, and the Momo pedals finally went on.I removed the PGH and 717 Tattoo decals... the more I remove, the more I am tempted to remove. But I think I'm done removing decals at this point. Maybe. I might put a smaller Apple one on it in place of the one currently on there. Ignore the metal shavings that I haven't vacuumed out of it yet... we still need to drill one of the holes for the brake, I'm waiting until we get that one done to vacuum so I don't have to do it twice.

Nice. Interested in seeing the rim/tire combos when you get a chance to put up more pix. I dig any combinations of red/white/black, so looking forward to it. And, welcome.

I'm loving the red/white/black combo, it all started with the red accent lights and emblems and just went from there. These forums have inspired me to do a few sweet mods to the car (hopefully starting with a K&N Typhoon cold air intake), so there will be plenty more photos and posts from me.

hearing that you're planning your next mod as we speak and seeing jkm311's sig above that post made me think...If ya haven't checked out GrafxWerks, you should. One of the cheaper mods that easily add tasteful color to your ride or engine bay

Those wheels turned out killer. Looking forward to those back on and maybe a red decal somewhere on the back passenger window or low by the rear tire. As you can tell by my sig, I am biased like that. But like I said, the red/white/black = love. Keep it up. Heck, you might have inspired me to do a whole new garage overhaul. Not sure when I will, but you'll get the credit. Ha!

I can't wait to see pictures of it de-badged !I am going back and forth when it comes to the window deflectors. I will probably just end up getting some and seeing how I like them .As everyone else has said, I can't wait to see what the factory wheels look like when they're back on the Vibe!

Now that is one sweet car! The grill itself will stay black, just the chrome trim around it will be red. Quote, originally posted by KITT222 »Those red wheels look great! Thank you! I am loving them (even though NTB is a huge pain in the #%% because I've now been there three times in three days because my TPMS light kept coming on. They *think* they found the culprit today though, if not I guess I'll be back there again tomorrow).

I added two more new photos to my first post... she's been debadged for a while now, plus she's had the addition of a rear bumper protector and the bug deflector. I'm really liking those two additions, not only for their functionality, but also because I like the bit of added accent they give. Next week I'm hoping we finally get the Momo pedals on (we were going to do them last week at the boyfriend's garage, but his drill was here ay my place... whoops!), and we are definitely doing the K&N CAI, but probably not until after January since it'd have to come back off for my state inspection (boo!).

And you will love the stone chip protection your bug deflector will give you on that front edge of the hood. Little spots of orange rust against white are not fun.Once again, love the red/black/white. The debadging really helped your tailgate. Funny how busy those back areas can get when they start with so much from the factory. Looks great.

Thank you!I have made very good use of the bottle of touch-up paint I recently got... there's been a lot of road construction around here, and thanks to all the highway driving I do through the one construction zone, my hood was not looking all too pretty. The deflector for me is more for stone protection than bug protection... both suck, but at least the bugs usually don't leave permanent scars on the hood. Added two more photos... the Momo pedals are finally on (save for one screw on the brake, we'll get that one on soon). I LOVE them... I wasn't happy when I discovered that the gas pedal had been cut down as per the recall a while back (it was done before I bought the car and I didn't notice it until maybe two months ago), but cut down or not, I hated how slippery both the gas and brake pedals were... the Momos are nice and grippy!

So I finished school a few weeks ago and almost have some free time again. Got a lot planned for my Vibe for the upcoming weeks... first, the K&N CAI is sitting in the dining room, it's getting installed Thursday (day off work, hanging out with the boyfriend at his garage to do the CAI and an oil change), and my new summer wheels are camping out in my garage awaiting tires and warm weather. The new wheels... Privat Legende, graphite with a machined lip, 18x8 size. The Focals from last summer are already sold (though awaiting tire remounting and payment), they are going to another Vibe owner (his is black, they are gonna look sweet on his Vibe!). I decided a while ago that I wanted to go up to 18" wheels for the summer, it just took a while for me to find the ones that I wanted for my Vibe. As always, more mods are planned, when time and money allow for them.

I love that the other wheels are going to another Vibe owner... he hadn't done any mods to his, but after hearing about what I'm doing with mine I know he's got some ideas now. I have a photo to post of the CAI, just gotta do it from my computer, so I'll do it tonight (on my phone now). I LOVE it!!! As I explained to a friend last night, she purrs like a very loud angry kitten now. I get chills just thinking about it. I'm really thinking I need to bump the cat-back exhaust up on my list of mods, I was going to wait on that one, but I think it's going to be a short wait.

Glad to see and hear you got it installed and love it! In my opinion the K&N CAI is a must have for every 2009-2010 2.4L owner!I've thought about getting the cat back exhaust, but I've had some not so good outcomes sound-wise in the past with cat back exhausts and the Vibe sounds so good with just the CAI that I don't want to "ruin" it and make it sound loud and raspy .

Got the new tires mounted last week, couldn't wait to get them on the car... thankfully, it's definitely been summery here, and I am loving my new wheels...Taken during the switchover from winter to summer wheels at my boyfriend's place, that's the front end of his VW pickup peeking out behind my car.

Unfortunately I have noticed that alot of threads, posts, comments, pictures, etc. were lost during the switch. My Garage thread has completely diappeared and so have about 200+ of my posts (my post count was around 3080 before the switch).

I saw that your Privat wheels are 18"x8". Do you have any idea what the offset is? Also, could you please post some pictures showing how far the wheels stick out of the wheel wells? I am considering getting some aftermarket 18" wheels for my 2009 GT and am trying to get an idea of how they will fit compared to the OEM wheels. Thanks in advance!

ET is 46 (had to look it up because I couldn't remember), and photos...

That front one doesn't really help much with the wheels turned, but the back one shows it a little. They are off the car for the winter, or I would take better photos for you. And yeah, I completely debadged her a few months ago... no stickers or vinyl of any type now.

And one more photo for good measure...

Thanks for the info and pictures!

It's a shame you're still going to sell it, it sure is a beautiful Vibe ;)! The rear end looks really good free of all badges and decals. You need a GenVibe decal on the lower right corner now though :P!
